CBS has completed a comedy grand slam, renewing their last remaining comedy, Bob Hearts Abishola, for a fifth season. Though the series is the lowest-rated of the network's half-hour sitcoms, it is a solid same-day performer anyway, with a 0.42 18-49 average, a performance that puts it in-line with the league average for the season. Co-created by Chuck Lorre, it was one of two of his series to survive the previous season's CBS comedy cut, which saw the cancellation of Lorre's United States of Al and B Positive and the number of comedy slots on CBS slashed from six to four. With the renewal of all four veteran comedies this year, a comedy expansion could perhaps be in the cards. Bob Hearts Abishola stars Billy Gardell, Folake Olowofoyeku, Christine Ebersole, Shola Adewusi, Barry Shabaka Henley, Matt Jones, Maribeth Monroe, Vernee Watson and the series' co-creator, Gina Yashere.
