Just ahead of its midseason premiere, CBS has announced that freshman drama Fire Country has been renewed for a season season. The move comes as no surprise, as Fire Country has rated as the top new scripted series in the 2022-23 TV season with a 0.43 average on Friday nights. This makes it the highest-rated Friday series on CBS as well, and it ties the show for #1 among 9 PM CBS entires in a crowded group that also includes NCIS, East New York, and FBI: International - among those series, its lead-in is tied for the lowest-rated. This is not the first show of confidence in the series from CBS, as they had previously announced that the series will air after the upcoming NFL AFC Championship game. Max Thieriot, Billy Burke, Diane Farr, Kevin Alejandro and Jordan Calloway appear on the series in starring roles. This is a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.
