ABC has renewed summer series The Gong Show for a second season. The amateur talent contest show is a revival of the original 70's series. This incarnation is hosted by Tommy Maitland who is a character portrayed by Mike Myers. Despite the renewal, the series generally had lackluster ratings. Overall, it averaged a meager 0.7 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic. The finale of the first season aired in September and garnered an abysmal 0.5. This was an incorrect prediction by the TVRatingsGuide.
