The Gilded Age Ordered Straight-to-Series by NBC

Drama series The Gilded Age has been given a straight-to-series order by NBC. The series was first announced as in development in 2012. Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes created and executive produces the series, which, per Deadline, will follow Marian Brook, "the wide-eyed young scion of a conservative family who will embark on infiltrating the wealthy neighboring family dominated by ruthless railroad tycoon George Russell, his rakish and available son Larry, and his ambitious wife Bertha, whose “new money” is a barrier to acceptance by the Astor and Vanderbilt set. Marian is about to experience a whole new world springing up right outside her front door." Fellowes called the Gilded Age the "fulfillment of a personal dream." No cast has been announced yet for the series.
