Wednesday was a night many shows took off, with CBS, ABC, and NBC all benching at least some of their originals. And the other shows saw huge gains. Just kidding! Most shows ticked down this Wednesday. No show lost more steam than 9-1-1, which was down to a still-phenomenal 1.6. Lead-in The X-Files was steady at a pretty pathetic 1.0. On ABC, The Goldbergs held at a near-season-high 1.7 for a special backdoor pilot episode, with American Housewife posting a 1.4 at 8:30 and a 1.1 at 9:30. Match Game was steady at 0.8 at 10. On CBS, The Amazing Race took a mighty fall to 1.2 over two hours in a special-length episode, with Criminal Minds down to 0.9 at 10. Amazing Race is still doing well, but a 1.1 at 9 and a big decline for a two hour episode doesn't bode too well for future episodes, which will start at 9 and be double pumped. It may just be that this particular show is better-suited for 8 PM. NBC had strong repeats with a 0.8 at 9 and bookend 0.9s. The CW's Riverdale held at 0.5, while Dynasty held at a horrid 0.2
