Retro Recommendations: Happy Days

In today's Retro Recommendations, the focus is on Happy Days.

Happy Days originally starred Ron Howard as the quintessential Richie Cunningham as the series sets in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His dad Howard, played by Tom Bosley, owns a hardware store called Cunningham's Hardware. His mom Marion, played by Marion Ross, is the traditional homemaker. His sister Joanie, played by Erin Moran, runs off to Chicago with Chachi to start a music career and then moves back home to pursue a teaching career. This series lasted 11 seasons, from 1974 to 1984.

The constant throughout 11 seasons, the Fonz. Fonzie became a regular in season 2 and managed to become a driving force even throughout the Richie-less seasons (seasons 8-11). He was the bad boy turned night school graduate and settled down for a bit.

Happy Days's most successful spin-off was Laverne and Shirley, which ran for 8 seasons.

In a way, the sitcom was 50s and 60s mixed with the vibe of the 70s and 80s.

And that does it for Retro Recommendations. Stay tuned for more shows coming up!
