Christmas Day TV Ratings 12/25/17: Grinches Both Solid on Christmas Day

It was a mostly quiet Christmas Day for the networks, with CBS, CW, & Fox airing low-rated repeats. It was NBC and ABC's night, with Grinch airings and NBA easily topping this Silent Night.  NBA drew a 2.0 for its three-hour broadcast, giving ABC the win for the night. The 1966 cartoon version Grinch on NBC (its second airing of the year) gave the network a strong 1.6, with a hearty 1.3 for the 2000 movie starring Jim Carrey. Both did well, with the movie giving the network stronger 10 PM ratings than nearly all Brave episodes this fall. CBS had repeats at 0.9/0.7/0.7/0.5/0.5, while CW had a iHeartRadio Jingle Ball rebroadcast at 0.3 and a 0.2 for Whose Line, and Fox had 0.4/0.3 for its repeats.
