Ratings Analysis: On Wednesday, the major broadcast networks reserved the first thirty minutes of the night for President Biden's farewell address. ABC's broadcast (0.46 rating/4.58 million viewers) led the way in both demo and viewership, while NBC (0.35 rating/4.20 million viewers) took second. CBS's showing of the speech (0.34 rating/3.55 million viewers) was right behind NBC, but Fox's broadcast (0.24 rating/1.55 million viewers) could not compete with the big three. After the address, it was a total bloodbath for ABC as new comedy Shifting Gears (0.38, -0.28) lost a massive chunk of last week's premiere rating, and Abbott Elementary (0.34, -0.34) dropped by a whopping 50% from the week-ago Always Sunny crossover. Celebrity Jeopardy! (0.28, -0.13) and What Would You Do? (0.19, -0.06) also declined but less so. The Price Is Right At Night (0.27, -0.10) and Raid the Cage (0.22, -0.09) slipped on CBS. NBC aired repeats of Chicago Med (0.20), Fire (0.16), and PD (0.18). Special Forces: World's Toughest Test (0.24, -0.05) shed a few hundredths on Fox.
