Ratings Analysis: Though Tuesday night's dramas were already strong, ABC's ratings got even bigger on Wednesday night as Tim Allen sitcom Shifting Gears debuted with a massive 0.66 in the Adults 18-49 demographic. To put things into perspective, this rating goes above every episode of the final season of Last Man Standing, Allen's previous effort that ended nearly four years ago. The news only got better from there as Abbott Elementary (0.68, +0.29) built on its lead-in for the highly-publicized It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia crossover event. Outside of the post-Oscars episode, this serves as Abbott's best performance ever. The premiere of Celebrity Jeopardy! (0.41) and What Would You Do? (0.25) tapered off from there but were still at respectable levels. On NBC, Chicago Med (0.45, +0.05) and Chicago PD (0.38, +0.04) rose, while Chicago Fire (0.42, 0.00) held steady. Raid the Cage (0.31) held onto a solid amount of The Price Is Right At Night's rating (0.37) in its CBS premiere. On Fox, Special Forces: World's Toughest Test (0.29/0.29) was up from its November 2023 finale (0.24) in its return. On the CW, Inside the NFL (0.04, -0.01) dropped from a Penn & Teller rerun (0.06). Key: (P) = premiere. (R) = repeat.
