Hoda Kotb to Officially Replace Matt Lauer on NBC’s Today

After more than a month of replacing the ousted-in-disgrace Matt Lauer in an unofficial capacity, Savannah Guthrie announced on this morning's Today show that Hoda Kotb will officially be replacing Lauer full-time, after much speculation over who would win the much-publicized job. It's not much of a surprise, as Kotb consistently held that position after Lauer departed and ratings were up in the fallout of the Lauer scandal. Kotb was previously a part of the Today family, having served as host of the fourth hour with Kathie Lee Gifford since 2008. Kotb is set to remain co-host of the fourth hour, in addition to her role in the first two hours.
