EVAN, SCOTT, HECTOR, and AMANDA are having a meeting in AMANDA’s living room. AMANDA walks in with four glasses of milk.
HECTOR
Hey, this is no different than the milk I served last week!
AMANDA
Taste it.
HECTOR tastes a sip and winces.
HECTOR
Tastes different.
AMANDA
Yeah, because it’s not spoiled.
EVAN
Thanks for the milk Amanda. Not everyone offers anything to drink when you come into their home.
HECTOR
I’m never gonna get to live that down, am I?
EVAN
Probably not.
AMANDA
Alright everyone, let’s focus now, remember why we’re here. We gotta figure out what we can air on STREAM.
HECTOR
We’ve already decided this, we’re gonna get the rights to a bunch of old shows not on streaming services and stream those.
AMANDA
Like what?
HECTOR
I don’t know, there’s gotta be something.
SCOTT
Let’s look it up.
SCOTT looks down at his phone.
SCOTT
Oh wow.
EVAN
What?
SCOTT
There are…a lot of shows not on streaming services.
EVAN
Like what? Anything I would’ve heard of?
SCOTT
Probably not. Most of them lasted a season if that.
HECTOR
So we’re talking about really bad shows.
SCOTT
Not necessarily. Just…shows people didn’t want to watch at the time.
AMANDA
Oh yeah, those would be PERFECT for a streaming service trying to get people to watch their shows.
SCOTT
You think so?
HECTOR
Hey I trust Amanda, we should look into this.
AMANDA
I was being sarcastic.
HECTOR
Don’t be shy, I can pinpoint a good idea when I hear one.
EVAN
Wait a second.
SCOTT
What?
EVAN
How exactly do we go about getting the rights to these shows?
SCOTT
Easy. Nobody wants them to begin with, just contact the production company.
AMANDA
Um…how old are the shows we’re talking about? Because production companies can go out of business.
SCOTT
Right. Uh…yeah we need a new plan.
HECTOR
How about we try to get the rights to unaired pilots? Studios spent a ton of money making them, I’m sure they’d appreciate a buck or two from someone looking to air them.
AMANDA
Just the pilot?
HECTOR
Well…yeah, that’s all that’s produced.
AMANDA
It’s content I guess.
EVAN
I like that idea. We can have a large collection of pilots of shows that never came to be.
SCOTT
Yeah, kinda like a museum of lost shows.
AMANDA
What do we say, worth a shot?
SCOTT
I’d say so.
EVAN
Of course, this is how STREAM begins!
HECTOR
Alright guys, homework time. Let’s divide and conquer calling up studios and getting the rights to those shows that nobody wanted to make because they thought nobody would want to watch them.
AMANDA
When you say it like that, it sounds like a terrible idea.
SCOTT
Yet it’s our best one.
EVAN
Let’s meet at my place next week. Aim to have 10 pilots ready to go by then.
Everyone agrees and exits.
