Below are the Week 7 renew/cancel predictions for the Fox network in the 2023-24 television season. The numbers listed in the table mark the Nielsen rating low, average, and high for each respective program in the Adults 18-49 demographic. The "Y2Y (year-to-year) Change" column denotes how much the series has risen or fallen when compared to its average from the previous season. Because of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, there is a limited amount of scripted programming this fall. As a result, reality television will now be included in this column.

The Simpsons: At the end of the 2002 Simpsons episode "Gump Roast", a parody song based on Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire" appears with the title "They'll Never Stop The Simpsons". In the chorus, Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer, sings "have no fears, we've got stories for years" before jokingly listing off plots intended for future episodes. Stories mentioned include Marge becoming a robot, bartender Moe Szyslak getting a cellphone, and Bart owning a bear. The show had only been on for a little over a decade at this time, but it was already being viewed as a never-ending enigma. Fast-forward to 2023 and those born when that episode first aired are now legally allowed to drink! The Simpsons is still on the air and recently climbed to a new season high for the annual "Treehouse of Horror" episode.

With the help of the football lead-in, Simpsons soared to a massive 1.48 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic, making Nielsen rating enthusiasts nostalgic for a time when a 1 regularly came before the decimal point. It is terribly redundant to spell it out, but it really feels like this series will go on until the end of time. It is very easy to dismiss the show as a relic living off of football fumes, but Fox has placed many different shows in the post-OT time slot and few have done as well as Simpsons. It's likely that leaving the antics of Homer, Bart, and Lisa on after a football game has become some sort of tradition for many households. If something else were to take its place, those same viewers would probably choose to change the channel. Fans of The Simpsons should have no fears as they have stories for years, decades, and maybe even centuries.

Krapopolis: The "Greek Tragedy" label fits Krapopolis well this week as it barely managed a 0.63 rating after the 1.48 that Simpsons put up. 43% retention is absolutely abysmal and a good bit lower than what The Great North managed in this time slot on NFL-boosted evenings. What makes this worse is that Krap soaks up the NFL boost and stops much of the growth before it can reach Bob's Burgers and Family Guy. Krapopolis will get the great privilege of airing directly after The OT on Sunday, November 12th, marking its second time being placed in the coveted 8 p.m. time slot. It's hard to feel that the show is deserving of this given its lousy performance, but Fox is clearly invested in artificially inflating the show's average as much as possible. No matter how much Krap is boosted, viewers probably won't stick around. Expect the series to struggle to clear the 0.20 threshold by spring 2024.
