FADE IN:

EXT. BEVERLY HILLS SKYLINE - DAY

A suburban area is situated near Los Angeles. Cars are buzzing everywhere.

EXT. FIFTH AVENUE - DAY

A moving truck is attached to Noah’s car. The car drives furiously.

When we last left Jack and Noah, they were in a dead heat with Mike over the better script.

The network decides to order Mike’s script to pilot.

This left Jack and Noah to move out of the Beverly Hills apartment they struggled to pay rent on.

INT. CAR - DAY

Inside the car, Noah is on the verge of tears.

Jack has an idea. A big idea.

He turns to Noah.

JACK
So, my uncle Jack lives in a house outside Beverly Hills.

NOAH
Why not call him?

EXT. APARTMENT BUILDING - DAY

A shabby looking apartment sits in the middle of downtown Beverly Hills, California.

INT. APARTMENT BUILDING HALLWAY - DAY

Mike walks in the hallway, noticing an empty apartment.

MIKE
Wow. Thank goodness these dudes are gone.

Will, overhearing Mike’s thoughts, steps outside his apartment.

WILL
Have you ever thought that you might be the reason why Jack and Noah moved out? Did you sweet talk the landlord in order to kick them out?

MIKE
Does it even matter? My script made it to pilot. Theirs didn’t.

WILL
That does not give you an excuse to be an a******. The network still doesn’t even have a clue what the premise is.

Mike sighs. He walks back into his apartment.

Will uncrosses his arms.

EXT. OLD MANSION - DAY

An old mansion sits in the heart of Malibu, right on the beach.

PETER, 52, is taking a swig of wine while setting baskets and weaving materials near the backyard.

A car rolls near the driveway.

Peter all of a sudden stops what he’s doing and runs toward the car.

Jack and Noah exit the car.

Peter then runs towards Jack and hugs him.

Jack then pulls back and shrugs. Peter chuckles.

JACK
Wow Uncle Peter. What’s with the wine?

PETER
Very funny, Jack.

Noah then looks at the scene.

JACK
Look, Noah and I need a place to stay. Mike’s pilot about myself and Noah just got ordered to pilot and now we got kicked out of our apartment.

PETER
Alright, I’ll give you a key to the basement. It’s not much, but it’s enough until you get back on your feet.

Noah then sighs.

PETER (CONT’D)
Say, why don’t we continue the conversation inside.

Peter, Jack, and Noah then leave the basket materials behind to head to the living room.

INT. OLD HOUSE - DAY

Peter, with hesitation, escorts Jack and Noah into the basement.

NOAH
Well, that’s an upgrade from our apartment.

PETER
Boys, it’s all yours. Just until you get your feet back up.

JACK
But there’s only one bed.

NOAH
Take the floor. Or we can share.

Jack sighs.

On the next Writer’s Block, Jack and Noah begin to get back up.

FADE OUT
