ABC Extends Orders of Stumptown, Mixed-ish and The Rookie

At long last, ABC has made announcements regarding the episode counts of some of its fall series. New series Stumptown and Mixed-ish and sophomore drama The Rookie have all received backorders on the network. All have been steady (if lower-than-average) performers for ABC, with Stumptown and The Rookie both remaining within a tenth of their premiere ratings and Mixed-ish holding steady in the 0.6-0.7 range after a 0.9 premiere. All three series are produced at least in part by ABC. Mixed-ish has received a full back-nine order, with its first season now set to run 22 episodes. The Rookie has received seven more episodes, meaning its second season will be as long as its first. Deadline reports that Stumptown will run at least 18 episodes with the possibility of a few extra episodes beyond that. There is no backorder announcement yet for sophomore comedies Schooled and Bless This Mess, both of which premiered at midseason last year and likely received 13-episode seasons. Tuesday drama Emergence will be capped at 13 episodes and it is claimed that that was the plan from the start.
