Andrew, Sarah,
and Edison are at the cafeteria in the student union getting food. They stand
in a buffet line.
EDISON
You've never
seen The Dark Knight?
SARAH
Nope.
EDISON
But it's like
one of the greatest superhero films of all time.
SARAH
It's just
another Batman movie.
EDISON
Just another
Batman movie! Andrew back me up.
ANDREW
It really is a
good movie.
SARAH
I've already
seen a Batman movie. If you see one then you've seen them all.
EDISON
Which Batman
movie?
SARAH
I think it was
called Batman and Robin.
EDISON
You poor girl.
SARAH
What?
ANDREW
Batman and
Robin is considered not just the worst Batman movie but also the worst
superhero movie ever.
SARAH
I kinda liked
it.
EDISON
Who hurt you?
As the three
go down the buffet line, Sarah and Andrew put a moderate amount of food on
their trays. Edison's tray is filled with junk food.
SARAH
Aren't you
gonna get some fruit?
EDISON
Why?
SARAH
Oh I don't
know. Maybe because it's healthy?
ANDREW
She's right
dude. You haven't exactly been eating healthy lately.
Cut to Edison
sitting in his bed eating potato chips and donuts.
Cut back to
the cafeteria.
EDISON
Whatever. I'd
rather eat delicious crap than poor tasting healthy food.
The three sit
at a table.
SARAH
You should
come to the gym with me.
EDISON
Which one?
SARAH
The one on
campus.
EDISON
There's a gym
here?
SARAH
Oh my gosh.
Look just come with me, please? I'll show you some exercises I do and some
healthy meals I make.
EDISON
Fine. But
Andrew has to do it with me.
ANDREW
Fine with me.
INT.
UNIVERSITY GYM - DAY
Andrew, Sarah,
and Edison are in the university gym. They are dressed in gym clothes.
SARAH
Let’s start
with the treadmill.
Edison gets on
the treadmill. He presses the increase speed button. It becomes too fast and he
flies off the treadmill.
SARAH
Let’s try the
bench press.
Edison is on
the bench press lifting it with ease.
EDISON
Told ya I was
strong.
SARAH
You have it
set to one pound.
EDISON
Higher reps on
low weight builds muscle quicker, I read it somewhere online. I think.
INT. ANDREW
AND EDISON’S DORM - DAY
Andrew, Sarah,
and Edison sit in their dorm. Sarah sits across from Andrew and Edison. Between
them is a tray of healthy food.
SARAH
Ok Edison.
Instead of junk food, you have other delicious and healthy options. Like
cauliflower. Here try it.
Edison picks
up a piece of cauliflower and eats it. He starts gagging.
EDISON
Are you trying
to kill me?
ANDREW
Oh come on it
can’t be that bad.
Andrew picks
up a piece of cauliflower. He eats it and starts gagging.
ANDREW
Oh wow that’s
bad.
SARAH
Fine. Here try
some carrots.
Edison eats
some carrots.
EDISON
It’s like the
more I chew, the more there is.
SARAH
That’s it I
give up. Enjoy destroying your body.
Sarah storms
out.
INT. SARAH’S
DORM - NIGHT
Sarah sits at
her desk doing homework. There is a knock at her door. She gets up and answers
it. It is Andrew.
ANDREW
Hey.
SARAH
Hey.
ANDREW
Can I come in?
SARAH
Yeah.
Andrew enters.
ANDREW
You tried your
best.
SARAH
I know. It’s
just....it’s just... nevermind.
ANDREW
What?
SARAH
Lately I’ve
been doubting my major. You know nursing. It’s just if I can’t take care of
someone like Edison, then how can I take care of anyone?
ANDREW
Uhhh well
first off, I wouldn’t consider Edison a prime example of a nursing patient and
second, of course you’re doubting your major. I’m doubting my major. Turns out
business is actually difficult.
SARAH
Thanks. You’re
a good friend.
Andrew face
turns to disappointment at the sound of friend and then returns to normal. He
smiles.
SARAH
Hey you wanna
watch a movie?
ANDREW
Sure, which
one?
Sarah walks over
to her purse and pulls out “The Dark Knight”.
ANDREW
You bought it?
SARAH
I thought I
might give it a try. Wanna watch it?
ANDREW
Yeah.
Andrew and
Sarah sit at her desk. She puts the movie in her computer. At the same time
Edison is doing homework at his desk. He reaches over for a snack and picks up
a bag of potato chips. He is about to open it but hesitates. He looks at the
chips. He puts them aside and pulls out a bag of carrots and begins eating
them. Cut back to Andrew and Sarah who are about halfway through the movie.
SARAH
Wait so how
did he get his scars?
ANDREW
No one knows.
That’s the beauty of it.
SARAH
I still think
Batman and Robin is better.
Andrew and
Sarah laugh. Andrew looks at Sarah with love.
