ABC Passes on Drama Pilots

ABC has decided not to order to series...

The Finest is a police drama that "explores the lives of five African-American sisters, all officers in the NYPD, as they face the challenges of their high-risk jobs while juggling the responsibilities of marriage, motherhood and family." Regina King, who recently starred on ABC's American Crime, directed the pilot. ABC Studios produces the project.

For Love is a fantasy series. The logline for the pilot, from Deadline: "Five years ago, Hope Castille’s fiancé was killed. This morning she received a phone call from him. An epic love triangle set against a grounded, secret world of magic in present-day New Orleans." ABC Studios produces the project

Get Christie Love is a reboot of the 1974-75 ABC series. This new version is created by Courtney Kemp, creator of Starz drama Power, and stars Kylie Bunbury, who led the short-lived FOX drama Pitch. The logline for the pilot, from Deadline: "Music-driven action drama centers on Christie Love, an African-American female CIA agent who leads an elite ops unit. She transforms into whomever she needs to be to get the job done, especially when it’s down to the wire and the stakes are life and death. The high-adrenaline missions of the series are anchored by an emotional mystery about Christie’s first love — unearthing the truth about this relationship will be the biggest mission impossible of her life." The project is a co-production between Lionsgate and Universal.

The Mission is a police procedural that "chronicles the colorful, complicated lives of cops on and off the beat in harrowing, emotional and often humorous situations." It is created by Jason Richman, who previously created short-lived ABC police procedural Detroit 1-8-7, and also developed the even shorter-lived ABC drama Lucky 7. ABC Studios produces the project.
