What’s Trending on Streaming: Daily Trending Lists for Hulu, Disney+, Peacock, Paramount+ and Max from June 29-July 5

It was a week with few new entries on the charts, as the July 4th holiday contributed to something of a content drought - even worse than we're used to in the summer. Keep reading to see which shows managed to rise to the top this week!

Hulu:

The Bear's time atop the Hulu chart was short-lived. After only five days on top, including two days during this calendar week, it was knocked off the top spot by The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. While Mormon Wives has been dropping in the last few weeks, even slipping entirely out of the top fifteen at some points, it released a reunion special this week that catapulted it back to the top. It stayed there the remainder of the week, with The Bear always running just behind it. It's good that FX had some originals drawing in viewers, because the broadcast networks sure didn't contribute much this week. ABC still had daytime soap General Hospital, which failed to hit #1 this week, but still consistently ranked in the top five, only dropping below that mark twice this week. Their news programs - ABC World News and Good Morning America - also had a strong week, which is usually a tell-tale sign that it was not a strong week for Hulu overall. 20/20 charted the whole week, starting at #4 and dropping as the week went on. That was a fairly impressive showing, seeing as it last aired a new episode on June 20. Verdict: The Diddy Trial, a special that aired Wednesday night, charted twice this week. Fox didn't look too much better, either. They did have Bob's Burgers and Family Guy this week, and they charted at #4 and #5, respectively, but that was about it. It was radio silence from Fox otherwise, with no other series airing new episodes this week. That left Gordon Ramsay's Secret Service as their only series besides Bob's Burgers to chart the entire week. MasterChef also charted five days, the only other Fox series to make an appearance this week. Nine Perfect Strangers finished its second season this week, and peaked at #3 on the chart.

Disney+:

Ironheart secured an ironclad grip on the top spot of the Disney+ chart during its second (and final) week. The Marvel miniseries dropped the last three episodes this week, and was #1 throughout the week. Only two other series made the chart this week, and neither stuck around very long. The Bear spent three days on the chart before disappointing, and popular children's YouTuber Blippi's first partnership with Disney, what was essentially a Walt Disney World infomercial titled Magical Disney Adventures, charted two days. The rest of the chart was all films. Snow White spent six days at #2 before sliding to #5, knocked down by festive 4th of July offerings like Hamilton, Independence Day, and The Sandlot. Hamilton wasn't the only Broadway presentation on the chart, as the filmed version of the Frozen musical also charted for the first three days of the week. Other films to chart multiple days this week included Back to the Future, Mufasa: The Lion King, The Parent Trap, Stitch! The Movie, Captain America: Brave New World and Avengers: Endgame.

Peacock:

"Dumbfounding" is probably the best way to describe Peacock's chart this week. While its chart was the same this week whether it was viewed on a computer or a phone, resulting in the return of SVU to the chart, the dominant program on their chart for much of the week was, inexplicably, a special about the making of the new Jurassic World, with a trailer for the film also ranking towards the top for much of the week, and NBC's special about the making of How to Train Your Dragon also hitting the chart, which couldn't be said about it back when it first aired. In all, the top of the Peacock chart looked a bit manipulated to drum up interest in NBCUniversal's current theatrical releases, rather than a genuine snapshot of what is most popular on Peacock. The chart started looking more normal by Friday, though a docuseries about the murders at the University of Idaho topped the chart the last two days of the week, keeping Love Island USA from ever hitting the top spot this week. It does seem fairly far-fetched that the streamer's buzziest series dropped as low as fifth place behind some NBCUniversal promotional materials, but I will cautiously take the chart at face-value. Notably, though, Love Island was the top series on the service outside of those movie-related specials, which is in-line with what we'd expect. Even in a very strange week that left only 7 spots available to actual TV series, Nelly & Ashanti's reality series spent the entire week on the chart, as did Law & Order: SVU. Poker Face only made four appearances this week, and peaked at #5. Days of Our Lives charted five days this week, peaking at #6. Resident Alien charted just the one day. The biggest victim of this very odd week for the Peacock chart was Bravo. Though a few of their shows did manage to chart this week, their series weren't nearly as visible on the chart this week as they have been recently, and there wasn't one Bravo series that charted the entire week.

Paramount+:

Criminal Minds remains the undisputed heavyweight champion of Paramount+, with practically no competition at this point. It's in its last week of the season, so things may soon change, but nothing was able to rival it this week. The Chi was one of the only other series releasing a new episode on Paramount+ this week, and it continued to reap the benefits of that situation, spending two days at #2 and the entire week on the chart. RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars again spent two days on the chart this week, peaking at #5 and dropping to #8 the next day, a mild improvement from last week. We had a new entry on the chart this week, from a fairly unexpected place: Dora, the rebooted Paramount+ version of the iconic Nickelodeon series, dropped its third season this week, and has been on the chart ever since, peaking at #4. It's rare to see a children's program other than SpongeBob on the chart, so Dora making the chart particularly stands out. The rest of the chart was made up of the shows you'd expect to be there: NCIS, Survivor, Ghosts, Blue Bloods and The Neighborhood all charted the entire week, and at this point, Hawaii Five-0 and Everybody Loves Raymond have a semi-regular presence on the chart.

Max:

It was another week of peaceful coexistence for The Gilded Age and And Just Like That... on Max. The HBO period drama led the chart four days this week, and slipped to #3 at its worst point. Max's Sex and the City continuation topped the chart three times and, like The Gilded Age, dipped to third at its lowest point this week. Much like The Pitt and The White Lotus earlier this year, these two shows are settling into a reliable pattern of sharing the top spot on the chart, with And Just Like That leading the way over the weekend (after airing on Thursday nights) and The Gilded Age topping the chart on weekdays. Max original Duster aired its finale this week, and matched its best performance, peaking at #2. The series has looked like a fairly solid performer for Max, though not a breakout performer like The Pitt. Biographical Spanish-language series Chespirito had its best week yer, charting each day of the last week and peaking at #3 on the chart. Last Week Tonight has built up momentum in the last few weeks, peaking at #2 this week and spending the entire week on the chart, but now heads into a nearly month-long hiatus. 2023 CW series The Swarm made a surprising appearance on the chart, spending two days in the top ten. As always, large share of offerings on the chart this week came from Discovery's cable network, including TLC, ID, Food Network and HGTV. 90 Day Fiancé, Hunt for Love and 1000-lb. Roomies were among the highest-charting of those series, while Ugliest House in America, Fatal Destination, and Expedition Unknown also spent several days on the chart.
