CBS has renewed their veteran multi-cam comedy The Neighborhood for an eighth and final season. The Cedric The Entertainer-starring series is the network’s sixth-highest-rated scripted show in the Live + Same Day Adults 18-49 demo with a 0.39 average, and ranks 15th in viewers with an average of 4.2 million. The Neighborhood has led off Monday nights for CBS since its premiere in 2018 and is now one of the network’s longest-running scripted series. It is consistently a favorite as a whole on Paramount+ despite new episodes reportedly being CBS’s least-watched scripted series with multi-platform viewing taken into account. The Neighborhood is also produced by CBS Studios and airs in syndication. This renewal leaves only Poppa’s House, The Equalizer, and Watson on the bubble.
The long-running sitcom also has a spinoff in development starring the characters of Malcolm & Marty, which is awaiting its fate. The Neighborhood’s renewal is an incorrect prediction by The TV Ratings Guide, bringing our CBS prediction record to 13-2 this season, and 15-2 counting previously made decisions on FBI and Blue Bloods.
