CBS Fall 2025 Schedule Projection
Schedule Projection Analysis
Monday - As The Neighborhood enters its final season, lead-out Poppa’s House does not make the cut and is instead replaced with The Neighborhood’s untitled Marty and Malcolm-led spinoff. Flagship drama NCIS stays put at 9, once again leading into its prequel, NCIS: Origins.
Tuesday - With both FBI spinoffs canceled, Tuesdays sees a major revamp. It’s led by Fire Country, moving from Fridays to launch its long-awaited spinoff in Sheriff Country. Sheriff Country will be sandwiched in between its mother show and FBI, which slides to 10 pm as CBS starts to phase out the FBI franchise.
Wednesday - Wednesday remains an all-unscripted night, with 90-minute episodes of Survivor staying put at 8. New singing competition The Road debuts at 9:30 and closes out the night.
Thursday - Thursdays is the one night that stays steady from fall 2024. CBS’s self-described thematic night includes a full night of shows that perform strong in multi-platform viewership and are likely on continued paths to renewal.
Friday - CBS takes S.W.A.T.’s cancelation and Fire Country’s move to Tuesday to turn Fridays into a mostly unscripted night. The Amazing Race returns to the Fridays at 8 time slot, with Hollywood Squares making its fall debut at 9. New Blue Bloods spinoff Boston Blue closes out the night in what was long Blue Bloods’ time slot.
Sunday - The Disney-owned hit Tracker continues to enjoy the football halo in the fall, staying put at 8/8:30. Midseason 2025 entry Watson gets a second chance by staying put at 9/9:30, while reruns once again close out the night on the fall schedule.
Midseason (Scripted) - New multi-cam Zarna premieres midseason on Mondays, with the currently-untitled spinoff of The Neighborhood sliding to 8. Einstein enjoys a post-NFL playoff premiere and settles into the Sundays at 9 time slot. Sundays at 10 and Fridays at 9 are both open, with one going to Watson and the other to NCIS: Sydney. That’s unless one of Watson or NCIS: Origins does not make it to the spring, in which case the Sunday night death slot will default to reruns year-round.
Midseason (Unscripted) - The Price Is Right At Night returns in between cycles of Survivor, this time paired up with the new cooking competition series from Padma Lakshmi and Susan Rovner. 10 pm is low profile, with options including reruns, leftover episodes of Raid The Cage, or the occasional Let’s Make A Deal Primetime special.
On The Bubble
Last Four Series On: Several comedies will be fighting for the Mondays at 8:30 time slot, with The Neighborhood’s spinoff projected to ultimately nab the time slot. Hollywood Squares is also a close call, as its spot on the fall schedule hinges on CBS expanding unscripted’s presence. Watson is projected to receive CBS’s final renewal of the season, while the final season renewal for The Neighborhood is their most recent one.
Next Four Series On: While almost a lock to make the fall schedule, Elsbeth could potentially get an uninterrupted run on Sundays midseason. NCIS: Origins is also very likely to air in the fall, but could have its spot taken by NCIS: Sydney. CBS could also decide to program originals in the 10/10:30 time slot in the fall, eliminating encores from the schedule. FBI is as close to a lock as possible for the fall schedule, but the cancelation of both spinoffs is an ominous sign for the franchise’s future.
First Four Series Off: With multiple options for CBS’s final comedy spot, multi-cam Zarna just misses the projected schedule. NCIS: Sydney could also remain on Fridays, and Einstein could take a spot should Watson or Elsbeth miss out on the fall schedule. The Equalizer is still a candidate to return, but is more likely to be saved for midseason should it be renewed at all.
Next Four Series Off: Single-cam comedy DMV has a natural disadvantage given CBS’s animosity for the format. The currently-untitled FBI/CIA spinoff is also an outside shot given the scrapped backdoor pilot. Poppa’s House is projected to lose its time slot to one of the three new comedies in development, and The Equalizer’s spinoff is not projected to receive a series order.
