It's time for another edition of What's Trending on Streaming, as another week has gone by, filled with new premieres, a lot of Christmas specials, and some surprising developments on the charts for Hulu, Disney+, Peacock, Paramount+ and Max.
Hulu:
Hulu gave us one of the more eclectic groups of #1s we've seen, with six different shows topping their TV chart this week, and only one having previously done so this season. 9-1-1: Lone Star was the only show to rise to #1 and stay there for more than one day, while Abbott Elementary and Hell's Kitchen were the only other broadcast primetime shows. The other shows that led the chart were anime series BLEACH, the Australian Love Island spinoff, and ABC daytime series General Hospital - not the sort of series we often see dominating on the charts, but all shows that put up great showings this week, particularly General Hospital, which stayed in the top five each day after a new episode was added this week. Contributing to some of these more unique chart-toppers is the fact that most ABC series have wrapped for the year, as have several Fox shows, meaning several of the shows on the chart this week wouldn't usually be doing well enough to make the chart in a normal week. ABC did still air some shows this week in addition to the aforementioned Abbott Elementary. Holiday specials CMA Country Christmas and The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular both aired this week and hit the charts at #5 and #8 respectively, though both were gone after a single day. A special holiday episode of Press Your Luck also made the chart at #11. It's not a terribly strong showing, but specials of both Celebrity Wheel of Fortune and Celebrity Family Feud failed to chart at all, nor did perennial holiday filler The Great Christmas Light Fight. In fact, some of the ABC shows that looked strongest didn't air this week at all. Dancing with the Stars remained on the chart for five days this week after its massive finale last week, peaking at #4. After holding on the chart for nearly a month after its fall finale, High Potential finally dropped off the chart on Saturday, having charted the previous six days between #9 and #15. 9-1-1 also logged six appearances this week, between #5 and #13 before sliding off on Saturday, while Grey's Anatomy had five appearances. Doctor Odyssey was ABC's only fall scripted series not to chart at all this week. Fox had a relatively full lineup this week, and every show that aired did make the chart. The Floor made the chart every day, peaking at #3. Its lead-in, The Masked Singer, had six appearances for the week and peaked at #5. Accused hit a new peak of #4, and charted three days for the week of its finale, and Crime Scene Kitchen also hit a new peak for its final week, at #8. Bob's Burgers charted for five days despite the cartoons taking the week off, and Murder in a Small Town lingered on the chart the first two days of the week after airing its finale the previous week. Outside of broadcast, FX's What We Do In the Shadows had a strong week, with five appearances and a peak of #2. Family Guy charted the entire week, following the release of a Christmas episode the previous week. New Hulu co-production Paris Has Fallen debuted at #11 and rose to #3 the next day.

Disney+:
At long last, TV has finally returned to Disney+! For the first time since Agatha All Along ended on Halloween, a new Disney+ original was released, and it went pretty much right to #1. Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, the latest spinoff in the iconic franchise that has been doing some heavy lifting in keeping the TV arm of Disney+ running, debuted at #3, rising to #1 for the next two days, after they had a full day for viewing to be accounted. It didn't leave the top three after that. It was almost entirely alone in a sea of films on the top ten lists, with Christmas films absolutely flooding the list, including Elf, the char-topping Home Alone (and its sequel), The Polar Express, The Santa Clause, Christmas Vacation and Ben Stiller's new film Nutcrackers, as well as a new Mickey Mouse special, Mickey and the Very Many Christmases. Moana also continued to dominate in the midst of the release of its sequel, topping the chart for the majority of this week. Disney+ pushing the Lion King films on their home page also pushed both of them into the top ten for the full week for another week, as part of a promotion for new film Mufasa.

Peacock:
After several weeks in a row of having its streak of domination on Peacock broken by other entries, SVU was back at #1 for the full week, though it's been few weeks since a new episode has been released. Trailing it in #2 for much of the week was Roseanne, its rise remaining almost entirely unexplained. Roseanne was pretty much the only comedy on the chart this week. St. Denis Medical joined it on the chart for two days at the start of the week, but it notably failed to crack the top ten after it a new episode was added to the service on Wednesday morning. Night Court didn't chart at all, though, nor did Happy's Place or Lopez vs Lopez. Peacock original comedy Based on a True Story also slipped off the list this week after charting the first four days of the week. Few dramas aired this week on NBC, and none of the ones that did actually charted, with both Brilliant Minds and The Irrational failing to chart at all. Chicago PD, Chicago Fire and Chicago Med all charted throughout this week after last airing on November 20, though they were mostly in the bottom half of the list. They were joined by Peacock co-production The Day of the Jackal, which charted in the top five for nearly the entire week, as well as soap opera Days of Our Live, which charted five days. Real Housewives entries from Beverly Hills, Salt Lake City and Potomac all charted, with seven appearances on the chart across the franchise this week. The Voice also charted a single day, one of the very few shows that aired this week to break onto the chart.

Paramount+:
It ended its second season weeks ago, but Tulsa King was still king on Paramount+ this week. The Sylvester Stallone crime drama led the Paramount+ chart for five days of the last week, taking third and fifth the other two days. A third season is not yet announced, but seems to be a mere formality at this point, with all streaming data pointing to the show being a true success story for Paramount+. Of course, it wasn't Taylor Sheridan's only success on the streamer. Lioness topped the charts for the first time this season, and did so for two days. It stayed in the top three for the rest of the week, beating the competition from every CBS series that aired this week, save for NCIS on Tuesday. Landman trailed the other Sheridan creations, but looked strong on its own, charting for six days of the last week and peaking at #2. As stated above, NCIS had the strongest showing of any CBS series this week, peaking at #2, ranking at #3 for much of the week, and not leaving the top five throughout the week. The only other CBS show to rank among the top ten for the entire week was The Neighborhood, which peaked at #6. Tracker peaked at #3, and charted for nearly the entire week, only slipping off the list on Friday. Blue Bloods had a good week, too, making the chart at #10 for four days straight and jumping to #6 on Saturday. Ghosts, coming off two weeks off, had another below-average week on the charts. Much of that can, of course, be attributed to the weeks away, though its peak of #5 is lower than we typically see after it drops a new episode. It still looked stronger than its fellow Thursday shows, as Matlock (at #6), Georgie & Mandy (at #7), and Elsbeth (at #9) all charted for just the one day, and also ranked a bit lower than we'd usually expect from them on Friday. FBI charted for two days, peaking at #5, while Fire Country, Survivor and The Equalizer all charted for just the one day, at #3, #5 and #9, respectively. Poppa's House, NCIS: Origins, FBI: International, FBI: Most Wanted, The Summit and SWAT all failed to chart at all. Ended CBS series-turned Paramount+ original Criminal Minds had a more consistent presence than nearly any of the network's current shows, with six appearances on the chart this week.

Max:
It was a week with several new entries and new developments on Max. For the first time since this column began, the headlining show of HBO's Sunday scripted lineup did not get a full sweep of #1 placements. Dune: Prophecy nearly pulled it off again, leading from Sunday through Friday, but it was dislodged on Saturday by Max original The Sex Lives of College Girls, which seems to be having a pretty solid third season on the streamer. The Mindy Kaling comedy placed in the top five the entire week, ultimately culminating in its first-place finish. Another comedy, HBO's Somebody Somewhere, had a slightly weaker showing than last week, mostly due to increased competition. Even with it spending much of the week in the bottom half of the list, it hit a new seasonal peak of #4 on the list. One of the new entries on the list was the return of long-running NFL docuseries Hard Knocks, which kicked off a special in-season run centering on the teams in the AFC North this week. The show returned strong in second place and has stayed in the top five thus far since its release. Also from the HBO banner was The Penguin, which hasn't aired since November 10, but remained within the top ten the entire week. It's clearly reaching the end of its time in the top ten, having gone as low as tenth place and peaking at#4 at the start of the week, but its longevity remains impressive nonetheless. Like Water for Chocolate, the HBO Latino series that received a renewal for a second and final season this week, charted for two days this week. Outside of HBO, Max premiered a new original series of their own this week, the new adult animation series from DC, Creature Commandos. The show started off in second place and was down to third the next day, in the only two days of the season with data so far. Food Network's Harry Potter - Wizards of Baking charted the entire week and peaked at #3, while their Holiday Baking Championship had a weaker showing than average, having charted for three days in the past week and peaked at #6. The baking series charted for just one day after the release of its new episode, while it charted for six days straight after the release of last week's episode.
