Saturday TV Ratings 10/3/20: Saturday Night Live Returns Up from Season 45 Opener, Steady College Football Leads Primetime, 48 Hours Rises (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: The 46th season premiere of 'Saturday Night Live' on NBC notched a robust 1.7 A18-49 rating and 7.8 million viewers, up substantially from 2019's start (1.3 rating, 6.1 million). The longtime sketch-comedy series was the top program of the night by a wide margin, leading out of a repeat of 'The Wall' (0.3) & 'SNL Vintage' (0.5). ABC's OK v. IA St. college football game (0.7) managed to match last week's 'Florida State v. Miami'. CBS had repeats of 'NCIS: LA' (0.3) and 'NCIS: NO' (0.3) leading into a slightly stronger '48 Hours' (0.4). Fox had an encore showing of its wildly successful "Kensday" lineup ['Masked Singer' (0.2) & 'I Can See Your Voice' (0.2)].

Finals Update: Saturday Night Live (+0.1) and College Football (+0.1) adjusted up. SNL Vintage (-0.1) and repeats of The Wall (-0.1) and Ellen's Game of Games (-0.1) adjusted down.
