Fans of Brooklyn Nine-Nine have to need to worry: the Nine-Nine will be back for at least one more season after its upcoming one. NBC has announced that the series will be back for an eighth season, months ahead of its seventh season premiere. The show moved from NBC last season following its cancellation by Fox, starting out as a solid performer before declining over the season and becoming a below-average part of the NBC schedule. However, the show is popular online and very profitable for NBC, therefore making its early renewal not very surprising. NBC is also ending several of its comedies this season, with veterans Will & Grace and The Good Place both opting to end on their own terms and Sunnyside being canceled just weeks into its run, meaning that Nine-Nine was a necessary show for NBC to hold onto if they didn't want to scale back on comedy next year. Andy Samberg, Melissa Fumero, Andre Braugher, Terry Crews, Joe Lo Truglio, and Stephanie Beatriz star on the series.
