Fresh Off the Boat: There was so much to talk about last week that I wasn't able to discuss it, but Fresh Off the Boat is in the best shape for renewal in quite some time. Though I still see it as a renewal underdog, I'm upgrading the show on the heels of news about the show receiving a spinoff. While not ordered, development on a Fresh spinoff is going forward at ABC. While they could just be looking for something to replace the show, it's also very possible that ABC is really dedicated to Fresh Off the Boat and they aren't willing to let it go just yet. It now only LEANS CANCELLATION.
Blackish: It's definitely not one of the stronger ABC scripted shows, but Blackish is certainly looking better so far this season than it was near the end of last season. The past two weeks, it was down only one tenth year-to-year and it's frequently tying its lead-in, spinoff show Mixedish. The show is also fully owned by the network and clearly makes them a ton of money considering its strong continued network support (not to mention the fact that it's received two spinoffs). It may be in season six, but there aren't any signs of it going anywhere anytime soon. It's a CERTAIN RENEWAL
