EXT. APARTMENT BUILDING - DAY

A shabby looking apartment sits in the middle of downtown Beverly Hills, California.

INT. APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - DAY

Jack types away on his computer. Dazed and confused, he looks up.

The door opens to reveal Noah.

Noah sighs. He wipes the sweat from his brow with his left hand.

Jack then takes a look at Noah.

JACK
Why so frazzled?

Taken aback, Noah’s eyes widen.

NOAH
It’s pilot season. I need to see the script.

JACK
Be my guest.

Jack hands Noah his laptop. Noah focuses in on the screen as if he is reading something.

Jack shrugs in anticipation. What will he be thinking of next?

NOAH
We should figure out how to get our script to pilot for this season.

Jack’s eyes widen. He sits back.

JACK
The script is not ready, Noah. Can’t we wait until next season?

Noah shakes his head.

NOAH
We don’t even have the money to wait. I’m getting sick and tired of eating pretzels and ramen noodles all the time, Jack!

Jack gets up from the couch.

Noah shrugs.

JACK
There are several things to tweak in the pilot script. For example, how to introduce the characters on the bench.

NOAH
I just read it. It is just fine as it is.

JACK
I want to add more.

NOAH
Comedies are only about 25 to 30 pages long per screenplay.

JACK
Then how come web series have way less than that?

Noah facepalms.

NOAH
Come on, Jack. Those are called digital shorts.

Jack gives Noah a confused look on his face.

JACK
What the f*** is that supposed to mean?

Noah paces back and forth.

Jack rolls his head back in an annoyed manner.

Noah hands the laptop back to Jack.

NOAH
It’s been weeks since we had an actual meal, Jack. We need this pilot to go through so we can be able to go back to normal.

JACK
There’s no guarantee that our pilot is going to make it to the shooting stage. We need to work as production assistants first.

Noah shakes his head.

NOAH
I’ve looked. No openings. We need to get that script going.

Jack scratches his head. Then his eyes widen as if a lightbulb went off his head.

JACK
I’ll give you this. How about we work on this script before this year’s deadline, since I am almost finished with the drafting phase?

Noah nods his head.

NOAH
That sounds like a plan.

The two shake hands.
