FADE IN:

EXT. MANHATTAN SKYLINE - DAY

An urban area is situated in Staten Island in the middle of New York City.

EXT. NETWORK HEADQUARTERS - DAY

The network’s headquarters sits in the heart of downtown Manhattan.

INT. BUSINESS HALLWAY - DAY

Jesse, Leah, and Kasey walk down the hallway.

Jesse carries a stack of papers.

Leah carries a notepad and a pencil. She scribbles away.

Kasey sighs as she clenches her pregnant belly.

Jesse turns to Leah.

JESSE
I have the notes from the panels.

Leah nods as she turns to Jesse.

LEAH
Okay. What are the plans now?

JESSE
I was thinking we should come up with plans for how we should market the shows.

LEAH
Okay, surely there should be something more in store for them. That’s a lot of notes to sort by.

Kasey then turns to both Leah and Jesse as she gestures with her hands. She sighs with anticipation.

KASEY
Uh oh. Did you say that there are a lot of notes to sort by, Leah?

LEAH
As a matter of fact, I did.

Kasey’s eyes widen.

KASEY
Usually when there are a ton of notes, that’s a bad thing.

LEAH
(sternly)
Not when there’s opportunities for constructive criticism.

Kasey looks away.

Jesse, Leah, and Kasey walk to the outside of the conference room doors.

Jesse opens the door on the right.

They walk in.

INT. CONFERENCE ROOM - DAY

Jesse shuts the door.

Jesse, Leah, and Kasey sit down at the conference table.

Jesse sets the stack of reports on top of the table in a neat and orderly pile.

Leah scribbles away at her notepad.

Suddenly, Matt walks into the conference room. He sits on a chair next to Leah.

Ash and Charlie walk in. Charlie has a separate stack of papers.

Charlie places them on the table and sits down next to Jesse.

Ash sits on the other side next to Leah. He turns to Jesse.

ASH
You have some reports, Jesse?

JESSE
A long stack.

Ash’s eyes move up and down at the stack of papers. He then looks away.

Leah then looks around at everyone after she stops writing.

Kasey then twiddles her thumbs.

LEAH
Jesse, can I see those?

JESSE
Of course.

Jesse divides the stack in half and hands the first half of the reports to Leah.

Leah then takes a few papers at a time and reads them with a careful eye.

Leah’s eyes then widen. She turns to Jesse.

LEAH
This is not going to work, Jesse. How are we going to go about doing this?

JESSE
I do not know. All I saw on the reports is that there were a few creative changes to the pilots, but not major.

Ash then turns to Jesse. He grabs the reports from Leah.

Then he reads them.

ASH
That would mean we have to change our promotion of The Bullpen.

JESSE
That would be fine.

Jesse composes himself as he gestures with his hands.

Ash crosses his arms.

Everyone turns to Jesse.

JESSE (CONT'D)
It was pitched to us as a baseball comedy, but it evolved into a comedy about mischievous deeds of the players in the bullpen.

Charlie sighs and turns to Jesse. She crosses her arms.

CHARLIE
I don’t know if people will watch baseball let alone a baseball comedy. Those have not worked in ages.

Matt turns to Charlie with a stern manner.

MATT
(interposingly)
You ever heard of the World Series?

CHARLIE
I have. That’s the only time people watch baseball other than the playoffs.

Everyone chuckles.
