FADE IN:

INT. APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - DAY

In the living room, Noah kicks back on the couch.

The door opens suddenly to reveal Jack with furor on his face.

Noah, with a surprised look, turns to look at Jack.

NOAH
What happened now?

JACK
Rent bill. $1500.

Noah shrugs.

Jack’s eyes roll up to the ceiling.

Then Jack refocuses.

Noah then gets up.

NOAH
How much did we spend on food last week?

JACK
We went to Coachella last week, remember?

NOAH
That really adds up. Why don’t we just figure out how to cut back on food and just live off of pretzels?

JACK
That sounds like a bad idea.

NOAH
If we can get enough money from our freelance jobs and other jobs, it will be enough to cover this month’s rent.

Jack rolls his eyes.

JACK
Whatever you say, genius.

NOAH
And we are doing this without air conditioning.

Noah turns the air conditioning system in the apartment off.

SUPER: DAYS LATER

Back in the living room, Noah lays on the couch. He takes a few deep breaths.

Jack is on the floor.

NOAH
You’re right. Maybe that was a bad idea.

JACK
We need to find a cheaper place to live. Just not in Beverly Hills.

NOAH
Ugh, not the poor man’s suburb.

Jack then gets up.

JACK
Why not? We’ll still have enough for meals and it will be half of what we are spending together with utilities.

Sweat drips down Noah’s face.

NOAH
Shall we turn the AC on?

JACK
If you insist.

Noah then turns on the air conditioning system.

FADE OUT
