Three new soaps popped up on the lineup. NBC positioned Moment of Truth in front of The Doctors, while ABC positioned Flame in the Wind/A Time for Us and The Young Marrieds around GH.
CBS' leading soaps lost its gained ground for its earlier entries, especially GL, which shed 2.2 points. The later part of the lineup, however, regained its footing. NBC and ABC's medical-based soaps gained ground, while the new class flunked out.
