Prompt #1

The lowest-rated show across all six networks—yes, six—this season averaged a 1.23 A18-49 rating. Comparatively, the Big 4 league average in 2016-17 was a 1.22. Granted, the season in question was before the rise of DVR and streaming so there was no such thing as L+35 gains. Regardless, which season am I describing?

Prompt #2
An NBC sitcom that starred somebody currently in The Good Place finished its run this season in 73rd place. In fact, that season all but one of the 13 lowest-rated sitcoms was canceled. The sitcom spared was in its first season and would go on to become a classic hit. Which show is it?

Prompt #3
This season, three of the Big 4 networks were down year-to-year, while the fourth was not. Ironically, the network that was not down year-to-year ended up canceling more shows than they renewed. The question: what was the average rating of the network that while not down year-to-year, canceled more shows than they renewed?

Game Day #5

Welcome back to Game Day! You have through Wednesday, February 21st at 11:59pm Eastern Time to answer the prompts below. You may also still participate in Game Day #2, #3, and #4 until then, though you don't have to answer every prompt if you're stuck/short on time. Here are some helpful links:

Sitcom Scorecards: http://www.tvratingsguide.com/2017/12/tvrgs-sitcom-scorecard-library.html

Prompt #1

The first season of this sitcom averaged a staggering 23.8 Household rating, and was the only show in the way of NBC airing all four of the top four sitcoms for that season. Given the tarnished reputation of the star of the only sitcom ahead of it, its likely that this sitcom would do better than it if it aired a revival season in spring 2018.

Prompt #2
In this year, a certain network failed to place any shows in the top 10, and only two scripted shows in the top 20. On the bright side, they had a reality hit that they aired three nights a week. Additionally, at least the network lived to see another season. Which network and year am I describing?

Prompt #3
A seasonal average of just a tad under an 11.0 A18-49 wasn’t enough to get this show a second season. Meanwhile, the show that finished just 0.02 tenths above it is still airing today, and is of the same genre and from the same network.

Game Day #4

The Ratings Junkie Friday, February 16, 2018

Welcome back to Game Day! You have through Wednesday, February 21st at 11:59pm Eastern Time to answer the prompts below. You may also still participate in Game Day #2 and #3 until then, though you don't have to answer every prompt if you're stuck/short on time. Here are some helpful links:

Game Day #2: http://www.tvratingsguide.com/2018/02/game-day-2.html

Sitcom Scorecards: http://www.tvratingsguide.com/2017/12/tvrgs-sitcom-scorecard-library.html

Prompt #1
This legendary unscripted show, which is still on the air today, has been around almost as long as television. While the first season aired during the daytime, the second aired in prime time to moderate success. The third season made the top 30, with a 28.6 Household rating. It might not be watched in 28.6% of households in televisions anymore, but it is watched more than almost all other shows from the 1950s combined.

Prompt #2
This sitcom, titled in the classic “The [insert first and last name here] Show” format, failed to make the top 30 in its fourth season, and in its fifth season finished lower than a show that aired on Saturdays. By that, I mean it was #2 in the ratings. What caused the uptick? It might have to do with the fact that it switched networks, as it originally aired on one with many ratings woes.

Prompt #3
Despite having low retention from its hit reality show lead-ins, this show ended up making it three seasons and for a short period of time held the honor of having more episodes under its belt than any other of that network’s simultaneously airing shows of the genre.

Game Day #3

Welcome to Game Day #3. You have until 11:59pm Eastern Time on Wednesday, February 14 to find the answers to the below prompts and fill out the form below. I've provided a few links to help you out.

You can STILL participate in Game Day #2 through the Wednesday deadline as well!

Prompt #1
This critically-acclaimed drama finished its fourth season with just 46% of that season's league average A18-49 rating. It was the network's lowest-rated show this season, which also saw an infamous 10pm experiment.

Prompt #2
This show objectively has the most bland title ever. The show was canceled after just one season, and did not even crack the top 100 for its season average. If you need another hint, it aired in the same season as a scripted show called New York News. Yes, I checked, the name of the show in question is not a typo in the ratings chart.

Prompt #3
This show was arguably one of the most successful sitcom spin-offs of all time; in fact, it lasted just as long as the original show on the network, and then aired an additional season on another network. While on paper this sitcom centers around a family, it is best remembered for a side character and his catchphrase.
