Wednesday TV Ratings 9/6/23: MasterChef Slightly Up, Big Brother Nears Season High, NFL Kickoff Eve Special Weak (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: CBS's 'Big Brother' (0.68, +0.08) was almost a tenth higher than last Wednesday, but 'Superfan' (0.19, +0.01) only managed to pick up a hundredth. NBC's 'America's Got Talent' (0.51, +0.06) was significantly higher than the week prior but could not stop 'NFL Kickoff Eve' (0.26) from losing nearly 50% of its Nielsen rating. The 10 p.m. 'Chicago PD' rerun (0.16) was a tenth below 'Kickoff Eve' but outpaced CBS's 'So Help Me Todd' encore (0.13). Fox's 'MasterChef' (0.36, +0.01) inched up ever so slightly but once more settled for 3rd place in the 8 p.m. hour. ABC went with four repeats of 'The Conners' (0.22/0.19/0.17/0.14) and one of 'The Rookie' (0.12). Reruns of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (0.08/0.08) and 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' (0.09) were strong by CW standards.

Finals Update: 'Big Brother' (+0.1), 'MasterChef' (+0.1), and 'NFL Kickoff Eve' (+0.1) adjusted up.
