Ratings Analysis: With help from 'NFL Overrun' (4.33) and 'The OT' (1.87), the season 10 kickoff of 'The Masked Singer' (0.87) was propelled to a rating higher than all previous 2023 episodes. This is a good bit lower than what 'The Simpsons' normally puts up in this time slot, but 'Singer' also had a smaller 'OT' lead-in than 'Simpsons' usually does. 'The Masked Singer' was followed by reruns of 'Bob's Burgers' (0.25) and 'Family Guy' (0.16). CBS used their 'NFL Overrun' (6.17) to boost '60 Minutes' (1.37) past the 1.0 threshold. At 8:30, 'Big Brother' (0.82, +0.27) absorbed just enough of that indirect football help needed to climb to a new season high. Repeats of 'Fire Country' (0.24/0.18) followed 'Brother'. On NBC, 'Football Night in America' (1.61) led into a massive 'Cowboys v. Giants' NFL game (6.32) that crossed the 20 million mark in total viewership. ABC had reruns of 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (0.22/0.27/0.24) all night long. The CW aired the season premiere of 'The Chosen' (0.04) and an encore of 'World's Funniest Animals' (0.03).
Finals Update: 'NFL Overrun' on CBS (+2.1), 'NFL Overrun' on Fox (+2.2), 'NFL: Cowboys v. Giants' (+1.4), 'The OT' (+0.4), and 'The Masked Singer: Season 10 Kickoff' (+0.3) adjusted up.
