Ratings Analysis: Fox's 'Cubs v. Reds' MLB game (0.64) was the second highest-rated broadcast of the evening and topped the 8PM hour. Game shows 'Press Your Luck' (0.44, -0.09) and 'Generation Gap' (0.41, -0.05) suffered sizable blows on ABC, but 'The Con' (0.27, +0.01) inched up at 10. CBS's 'Big Brother' (0.76, +0.03) was three-hundredths higher than the Thursday prior and predictably beat out all other programs. On the repeat front, 'Young Sheldon' (0.31) declined while 'Ghosts' (0.32) and 'CSI: Vegas' (0.22) improved on a week-to-week basis. NBC went with middling encores of 'Law & Order' (0.18), 'SVU' (0.22), and 'Organized Crime' (0.21). On the CW, the series premiere of new dramedy 'Bump' (0.06/0.04) was on-par with what that the network has done all summer. At 9, the return of the 'Great Chocolate Showdown' (0.05) built on the second half of the 'Bump' debut.
Finals Update: 'Big Brother' (+0.1) and 'MLB: Cubs v. Red' (+0.1) adjusted up. 'Press Your Luck' (-0.1), 'Generation Gap' (-0.1), and 'Bump' at 8:30 (-0.1) adjusted down, as did repeats of 'Young Sheldon' (-0.1), 'Law & Order' (-0.1), and 'Law & Order: SVU' (-0.1).
