What’s Trending on Streaming: Daily Trending Lists for Hulu, Disney+, Peacock, Paramount+ and HBO Max from January 11-January 17

It was another January week filled with premieres, as every streamer saw a new entry shaking up their charts this week. Keep reading to see how those new entries fared on Hulu, Disney+, Peacock, Paramount+, and HBO Max, and how they stacked up to the streamers' ongoing hits!

Hulu:

This week saw the long-awaited return of Hulu original Tell Me Lies. The drama series last aired in October 2024, but remained popular even after the hiatus, spending two days at #1 in its premiere week. Its strong return was foreshadowed by a solid chart performance on the Hulu chart in the weeks leading up to its return. It was also another strong streaming week for ABC, as three of their signature dramas climbed to #1 once again. Grey's Anatomy both opened and closed the week at #1, spending the entire week on the chart and slipping to #11 at its worst point. The Rookie also managed two days at #1, with a #7 showing on Tuesday being its worst performance this week. High Potential spent one day at #1, but impressively never dropped out of the top five this week. Will Trent remained the weakest show in the Tuesday trio, peaking at #4, but it still looked solid, and charted throughout the entire week. Abbott Elementary similarly peaked at #4 and charted all week, while Shifting Gears charted only two days and peaked at #10, as it now begins to match to its weaker fall performances. 9-1-1 peaked at #2 this week and charted all week, as Grey's Anatomy continued to eclipse it. 9-1-1: Nashville peaked at #3, and just barely stayed on the chart the whole week, spending two days this week at #15. 20/20 charted six days and peaked at #4. Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, new docuseries Dirty Talk and Shark Tank were ABC's only series to miss the chart entirely. Daytime soap General Hospital charted five days and peaked at #3. Over on Fox, their new Fear Factor reboot got off to a strong start, peaking at #2 - higher than any other Fox show this week. It spent six days on the chart this week - each day since its debut. TMZ Investigates: The Reiner Murders, which aired last Friday, charted three days, peaking at #8. Best Medicine weakened a bit in its second week, peaking at #6 this week, but still spending the entire week in the top ten. Doc peaked a bit higher at #5, though it slipped lower than Best Medicine, down to #13 at its worst point. The Masked Singer charted five days this week and peaked at #9. However, in a concerning turn, most o those days were at the beginning of the week, and the show was out of the top 15 again just two days after airing. Hell's Kitchen had one of its weakest showings in a while, charting three days and peaking at #7. In a truly abysmal showing, both Animal Control and Going Dutch failed to chart for their first week back. They were the only Fox originals to miss the chart this week.

Disney+:

After dominating the Disney+ chart last week, Percy Jackson was left to share the wealth this week.  The series was #1 on streaming for three days of the last week, with two new entries both managing to break ahead of it. First up was Fox's Fear Factor: House of Fear, which had a big post-NFL preview on Sunday.  It debuted straight at #1 on the chart and stayed there the next day, dropping to #3 the next day before rising up to #2 for the last two days of the week. New NatGeo show Pole to Pole with Will Smith, featuring the award-winning actor traversing the globe, entered the chart at #2 before it rose to #1 to close out the week. Hulu's Tell Me Lies was another new entry this week, peaking at #2 and charting five days in all. After a strong run, Taylor Swift: The End of an Era departed the top ten at the end o this week, after starting the week out at #2. While Fear Factor was the only broadcast show to hit #1 this week, several others made appearances. Best Medicine and High Potential both charted all week, while 9-1-1: Nashville charted five times, Shifting Gears charted thrice, and The Rookie charted once. Kids TV entries like Spidey and His Amazing Friends, Little Angel, Hey AJ, Zootopia+ and Bluey. also graced the chart or multiple days this week. The movie chart was pretty static all week. Tron: Ares was #1 all week, with the two Avatar films always directly following it and The Fantastic Four: Next Steps always directly following them. Thunderbolts, Deadpool & Wolverine and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse all charted the entire week, while Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Freakier Friday, and Avengers: Endgame were among the other films charting multiple days.

Peacock:

It was a traitorous week on Peacock, as The Traitors swept the top spot for its first full week of the season. It's the first time the show has accomplished this, coming as NBCUniversal boasts about its record return ratings. It held off a new challenger on the chart: new Peacock original series Ponies, a spy thriller that dropped its entire first season this week. Ponies debuted at #2 on the chart, continuing Peacock's recent track record of having originals debuting fairly well, after the successful launches of All her Fault and The Copenhagen Test. Several NBC series also charted this week. St. Denis Medical spent three days on the chart and peaked at #5. After missing the chart entirely last week, Chicago Med got back in the top ten for a single day this week, at #7 on Friday. Chicago PD and Chicago Fire both charted five days, with Fire peaking a bit higher at #3, but PD outperforming it on every other day. Law & Order: SVU charted all week, which is the only thing we can rely on at this point, peaking at #3. The Hunting Party also charted all week and peaked at #2, a surprisingly strong - and perhaps misleading, if this year's premieres of Brilliant Minds and Stumble are any indication - showing. Like Chicago Med before it, Law & Order was on the chart this week off a single day, though it only reached #10 on the chart. Peacock's The Copenhagen Test departed the chart midway through this week after a solid run on the chart. Bravo had several entries, including Vanderpump Rules (its highest-peaking show, reaching #2), Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Potomac and Beverly Hills, and Southern Charm.

Paramount+:

The Paramount+ continues to look mighty familiar. Most shows that have been charting for weeks continued to char this week, with just one new entry. That new entry was the latest Star Trek Series, Starlet Academy. It wasn't a blockbuster premiere for the new Holly Hunter-led sci-fi drama, which first popped up on the chart the day after its premiere at #9, rising to #6 the next day, but charting at all is better than being totally invisible. The series replaced Girl Taken on the chart, with that miniseries having charted towards the bottom of the chart for the first five days of the week before disappearing. Landman declined a bit again this week, spending five days at #1, as South Park topped it twice. Fellow Taylor Sheridan series Mayor of Kingstown and Tulsa King also remained on the chart all week, but unlike Landman, neither of them aired new episodes this week (nor will they air again any time soon, as they've wrapped their seasons). CBS series NCIS and Ghosts both charted all week, as did the long-ended Everybody Loves Raymond, which rose all the way to a #5 peak this week. CBS/Paramount+ original Criminal Minds also joined them in charting every day. Harlan Coben's Final Twist, Hollywood Squares, and The Price Is Right At Night all failed to chart again this week.

HBO Max:

As expected, The Pitt's first full week of its second season was a dominant one. The acclaimed medical drama swept the top spot this week, the first of many likely occurrences. While it hasn't aired in several weeks at this point, Heated Rivalry remained a strong #2 option on HBO Max this week, never leaving that spot. The only major premiere this week was HBO bringing back their veteran drama Industry. Despite being in its fourth season now, the show has always remained a more low-profile entry for HBO, not receiving the same quite as much publicity as fellow HBO veterans like The White Lotus or The Last of Us or The Gilded Age. Still, it was a respectable premiere week, as the drama peaked at #5 on the chart and held onto a top ten spot for the entire week. Also charting all week was Task, the one-time miniseries that's now been renewed for a second season. The series made a return to the chart last week, but crept all the way up to the #3 spot on the chart by the end of this week, impressively out-streaming the wide majority of ongoing WBDiscovery series. Euphoria also returned to the chart by week's end, debuting straight at #4 as the long-absent series finally debuted a trailer for its final season, nearly our years after it last aired. Adult Swim brought back Emmy-winning dramatic cartoon Primal, which spent one day on the top ten, at #8. Much of the rest of the chart comprised of unscripted cable series, including TLC's 90 Day Fiancé series and 1000-Lb. Sisters, ID's People Magazine Investigates and The Curious Case Of..., and Discovery's Gold Rush.
