What’s Trending on Streaming: Daily Trending Lists for Hulu, Disney+, Peacock, Paramount+ and HBO Max from January 4-January 10

After a quiet month, streaming truly came alive this week, with major debuts on all five streamers, including original hits and new and returning broadcast favorites. Keep reading to see how the new debuts performed this week, and what that meant for the shows that had previously been dominating the charts in recent weeks.

Hulu:

We've made it through the drought. After a hiatus that saw almost no broadcast originals for a month and was dominated by Kim Kardashian and General Hospital, ABC and Fox finally brought back some of their top performers this week. As such, five different shows managed to hit #1 on the chart this week. Four of them were from ABC, as 20/20 started the week out with two days at #1, with The Rookie, High Potential, and Grey's Anatomy all having one-day stints as the top dog on Hulu. Fox's only #1 was Best Medicine, but it was the #1 show for two days this week after its out-of-slot premiere on Sunday. Several of ABC's shows this week managed to hit #1, but there were obviously plenty that did not. Will Trent has always been the weakest of the Tuesday trio on streaming, and it's not surprising to see it have a lower peak than the other two shows, reaching a solid #3 on its best day. Shifting Gears performed well by its own standards, charting three days and peaking at #9. Abbott Elementary peaked at #4 and also charted three days. 9-1-1 has charted two days so far and peaked at #2. 9-1-1: Nashville also charted two days and peaked at #3. Shark Tank made its first appearance in many months, at #15 for one day. General Hospital peaked at #2 this week, while The View, ABC World News Tonight and Jimmy Kimmel Live all logged chart appearances as well. Over on Fox, Best Medicine wasn't their only successful outing this week. Doc returned strong with a #3 peak, charting four days this week. The Masked Singer also peaked at #3 after an extended hiatus, charting three days. Hell's Kitchen charted all week and peaked at #2. The Simpsons had its best showing of the season with a one-day #6 peak, and Krapopolis charted for a day at #14. Name That Tune did not chart this week. Outside of broadcast, Hulu originals All's Fair, The Kardashians, and the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives all departed the chart this week, having all ended their seasons at least two weeks ago. Tell Me Lies continued to make appearances despite last airing over a year ago, with a third season set to debut early next week.

Disney+:

Since its reintroduction, Disney+'s TV chart has been dominated by two shows. That mostly continued this week. Most of the remaining spots on the chart have comprised of animated kids shows. That did not continue this week, as broadcast TV finally returned from its holiday break and got a chance to shine on Disney+. Percy Jackson & the Olympians swept the top spot this week, its first time doing so. Three different shows followed it at #2 this week, with Taylor Swift: The End of an Era spending the majority off the week there. The music documentary remained strong despite airing its final episode weeks ago, never slipping below #3 on the chart. New Fox medical drama Best Medicine also managed to reach #2 on the chart, the best performance we've seen for a broadcast show on Disney+ in a very long time. Best Medicine spent two days at #2 and has stayed in the top five since its debut on the chart. Bluey also hit #2 on the chart for a single day. Best Medicine was far from the only broadcast show on the chart. Fellow Fox Tuesday drama Doc charted for a single day at #10. ABC had several entries on the chart, with 9-1-1: Nashville charting the highest at #3. High Potential charted five days, the most o any ABC show, peaking at #4. The Rookie charted three days and peaked at #5. Shifting Gears charted twice and also peaked at #5. While it heavily outperforms Shifting Gears on Hulu, Abbott Elementary made its first Disney+ chart appearance this week, spending one day on the chart at #9. Various kids shows like Zootopia+, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+, Little Angel and The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball also charted this week, though some of those shows got knocked out of the top ten by the new broadcast entries. All's Fair also got knocked out of the top ten midway through the week. On the film chart, Avatar: The Way of Water spent the majority of the week at #1, but it lost its top spot thanks to the streaming debut of Tron: Ares, which has been #1 since it was added. Avatar, Thunderbolts, Pirates o the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Freakier Friday and Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse all charted the entire week, and Cheetahs Up Close with Bertie Gregory, Hotel Transylvania and Step Up also charted several days.

Peacock:

After a dominant showing for The Copenhagen Test last week, it was downhill this week. The drama spent four days at #1 this week, then dropped to #4, then to #8, before ending the week with a small gain at #6. It's no surprise that it lost its grip on the top spot, given that several NBC shows returned this week and so did The Traitors, but seeing Real Housewives of Salt Lake City beat it for the #1 spot was a surprise. That wasn't the only Housewives show on the chart, as editions in Potomac and Beverly Hills also charted in the top three, as did fellow Bravo shows Vanderpump Rules and Below Deck Mediterranean, while Married to Medicine, Southern Charm, and The Valley: Persian Style were all a touch lower. Law & Order was the best-performing NBC series this week, as most shows struggled to find their footing in their first week of 2026. SVU peaked at #2, and surprisingly, so did The Hunting Party. It's worth offering caution on that surprisingly-solid debut for The Hunting Party, as we have seen several shows premiere well on Peacock before completely falling on their own faces in subsequent weeks (such as Brilliant Minds just this season). Still, it's a better performance this week than either Chicago Med or Law & Order, as both shows managed to completely miss the chart this week. It's an embarrassing result for both, but for different reasons. This is the first week Chicago Med has ever missed the chart after airing an episode, but while we've see Law & Order miss the chart plenty of times in the past, this week was a heavily-promoted crossover between it and SVU, which charted very high (though not to its usual standards, either). Chicago PD and Chicago Fire also underperformed what we've come to expect from them, both charting three days, but only peaking at #4 and #6, respectively. St. Denis Medical also performed worse than usual, peaking at #6 and charting three days, already out of the top ten by Saturday. Fellow Monday shows The Wall and Brilliant Minds failed to chart at all. The most anticipated return of the week, though, was The Traitors. The reality hit that brings together top names from the Real Housewives, Big Brother, Survivor, and also Donna Kelce shot straight up to #1 after premiering its highly-anticipated fourth season, after already spending four previous days this week on the chart.

Paramount+:

While the other streamers all saw major changes this week, Paramount+ looked like more of the same. One notable change was Landman not ranking at #1 the entire week, as South Park managed to emerge on top on Friday in a rare shakeup. Other than that, it was domination for the Taylor Sheridan hit, which is one of very few original programs airing on Paramount+ right now. Mayor of Kingstown continued to perform well a week out from its finale, still peaking at #2 on Sunday and not peaking much differently from the weeks where it did air new episodes. Tulsa King's been off the air even longer, but charted the entire week once again, peaking at #4. NCIS and Ghosts were the only CBS shows to chart the entire week, while former CBS show turned Paramount+ original Criminal Minds also charted the entire week, as did the long-ended sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond. The Neighborhood charted four days. Paramount+ miniseries Girl Taken dropped its entire season this week, and it debuted at #8 on the chart. Despite that tepid debut, it's managed to stay on the chart since, rising to #7 on Saturday. Hollywood Squares, The Price is Right at Night and Harlan Coben's Final Twist were the only originals to air on CBS this week, and as you may have expected, none of them reached the top ten.

HBO Max:

Heated Rivalry remains extremely popular on HBO Max, topping their chart for the majority of the week and remaining at the pinnacle of the cultural conversation. However, there's a new show in town, and that's The Pitt. The acclaimed Emmy-winning hospital drama set in real time embarked on its second season this week, after spending the last few weeks on the chart out of mere anticipation for the new season. It immediately jumped to #1, knocking Heated Rivalry down to #2, still a very strong showing for a series that aired its finale two weeks ago. Hard Knocks spent five days on the chart this week. The week saw several recent staples departing the chart entirely: IT: Welcome to Derry, Mad Men, and I Love LA all left the top ten this week, as did It's Florida, Man, which was a frequent chart entry, but not necessarily a consistent presence. Like The Pitt before it, HBO's Industry made a few appearances on the chart this week as its fourth season nears. Much of the rest of the chart was filled with various cable series. ID's The Cult Behind the Killer and TLC's The Cult of the Real Housewife were both high-charting true crime entries, while TLC also had several other entries with their 90 Day Fiancé series, Sister Wives and Baylen Out Loud, and Discovery had Gold Rush.
