Tuesday TV Ratings 1/2/24: Only Murders in the Building Decent in ABC Debut, The Floor Has Strong Start, Extended Family Solid (UPDATED w/Analysis)

Ratings Analysis: Hulu original Only Murders in the Building (0.32/0.25/0.22) made its network television debut on ABC in semi-decent fashion. Though it trailed Celebrity Jeopardy! (0.49, +0.12) and declined as the night went on, this can be seen as an adequate showing for these glorified reruns. Over on NBC, Night Court (0.37, -0.09) was on-par with its spring 2023 delivery and only about a tenth lower than its 12/23 Christmas special. In the 8:30 p.m. slot, Extended Family (0.33, -0.38) was understandably way down from its NFL-boosted launch but held onto to its lead-in rather nicely. On Fox, game show The Floor (0.41) impressed on series premiere night and beat out everything that wasn't Celebrity Jeopardy!. Earlier in the night, Celebrity Name That Tune (0.29, +0.07) set a new season high. Inside the NFL (0.05, -0.04) crumbled on the CW, while CBS re-ran NCIS: Sydney (0.29/0.23/0.17).
