Thursday TV Ratings 1/23/25: SVU and Found Drop, Going Dutch Rises, US Figure Skating Championships Low [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: Law & Order (0.29, -0.05), SVU (0.40, -0.09), and Found (0.24, -0.05) were all knocked down a peg on NBC. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (0.22, -0.04) also slipped on ABC, while CBS's Hollywood Squares (0.34, -1.40) was way down from Sunday's NFL-boosted installment. On Fox, Going Dutch (0.20, +0.01) miraculously built on its Animal Control lead-in (0.17, -0.02). Hell's Kitchen (0.26, -0.02) was down at 8. The CW aired the premieres of Police 24/7 (0.07) and Crime Nation (0.06). Key: (P) = premiere. (R) = repeat.

Thursday TV Ratings 1/16/25: Hollywood Squares Starts Solidly, SVU Returns to Season High, Extreme Makeover Drops Again [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: CBS's Hollywood Squares reboot (0.36) had a solid start on Thursday night, topping its time slot in both Adults 18-49 ratings and total viewers. On NBC, Law & Order (0.34, +0.02) was up slightly in its winter return, while Law & Order: SVU (0.49, +0.08), and Found (0.29, +0.07) soared to new season highs. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (0.26, -0.03) dropped again on ABC, and Only Murders (0.15/0.12/0.10) weakened some more. Fox's Hell's Kitchen (0.28, -0.01) ticked down, but comedies Animal Control (0.19, +0.01) and Going Dutch (0.19, +0.04) were on the rise. The CW only had reruns of Police 24/7 (0.05/0.06) to offer. Key: (R) = repeat.

Thursday TV Ratings 1/9/25: Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Sinks in Week Two, Animal Control and Going Dutch Also Dip, Georgie & Mandy Repeat Leads Broadcast [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: In week two, ABC's reboot of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (0.29, -0.06) was down from last week's debut, but Only Murders in the Building (0.19/0.14) was relatively close to its week-ago performance (0.20/0.14/0.12). On Fox, Hell's Kitchen (0.29, +0.03) increased in size, but Animal Control (0.18, -0.03) and Going Dutch (0.15, -0.04) crumbled. CBS aired repeats of Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage (0.36/0.20), Ghosts (0.24/0.16), and Matlock (0.15). NBC went with encores of Law & Order (0.22), SVU (0.15), and Found (0.13). Reruns of Police 24/7 (0.06/0.10) remained a staple on the CW. Key: (R) = repeat.

Thursday TV Ratings 1/2/25: Going Dutch Off to Tepid Start, Animal Control Rises in Return, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Premieres Decently [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: It was a sluggish start to the new year for Fox as Denis Leary sitcom Going Dutch (0.19) looked modest at best in its series debut. Earlier in the night, Hell's Kitchen (0.26, +0.02) was up in its return, and Animal Control (0.21) was actually on-par with last year's season premiere (0.21). On ABC, the latest incarnation of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (0.35) posted a fairly healthy rating for its premiere. From there, Only Murders in the Building (0.20/0.14/0.12) fell significantly behind last year's network television debut (0.32/0.25/0.22). CBS went with repeats of Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage (0.26), Ghosts (0.17), and Matlock (0.17/0.18). NBC aired encores of Law & Order (0.16), Law & Order: SVU (0.19), and Found (0.14). The CW re-aired more Police 24/7 (0.05/0.03). Key: (P) = premiere. (R) = repeat.

Tuesday TV Ratings 1/23/24: Celebrity Jeopardy Drops for Finale, NCIS: Sydney Ends Steady, Extended Family Hits New Low, La Brea Rises (UPDATED w/Analysis)


Ratings Analysis: ABC's Celebrity Jeopardy! (0.45, -0.12) lost some ground on finale night but was still the highest-rated program of the evening. In the 9 p.m. hour, Only Murders in the Building (0.20) closed out its broadcast run and led into a repeat of The Rookie (0.12). Over on CBS, NCIS: Sydney (0.35, 0.00) held steady for its season finale and was followed by reruns of FBI (0.25) and FBI: Most Wanted (0.22). Night Court (0.33, -0.04) and Extended Family (0.23, -0.03) slipped to new lows on NBC, with the latter now having declined for four-straight episodes. At 9, LA Brea (0.20, +0.01) picked up a hundredth but was only a bit stronger than the 10 p.m. Found rerun (0.19). Celebrity Name That Tune (0.28, -0.01) lost a hundredth on Fox, while The Floor (0.41, -0.10) lost a full tenth. Despite the decline, The Floor did not set a new low and instead tied its premiere rating from early January. In CW land, Inside the NFL (0.04, -0.01) shed a hundredth, while Whose Line (0.05, +0.01) gained one.
