Ratings Analysis: Though its growth was largely due to NFL Overrun help, CBS's broadcast of The 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards (1.76) was up by over 50% from 2023's (1.13) in the Adults 18-49 demographic. The trend was very similar in total viewers (9.47 million in 2024 vs. 6.25 million in '23), meaning that the Globes enjoyed a healthy boost all-around. Over on Fox, the series premiere of animated sitcom Grimsburg (0.57) did not impress despite having NFL help on its side. Krapopolis (0.32, -0.50) took away enough aid at 8:30 to beat out its uninflated showings from the fall, but the boost was almost completely gone by the time Bob's Burgers (0.27, -0.19) and the season four premiere of The Great North (0.22) came on. For The Great North, this premiere rating was only slightly higher than its 2023 finale (0.17) that aired in deep spring. America's Funniest Home Videos (0.35, +0.08) was up markedly when compared to its last original, but Solo: A Star Wars Story (0.13) completely bombed for its first ABC broadcast. NBC's Bills v. Dolphins NFL game (5.11) was six-tenths higher than the week-ago Packers v. Vikings game (4.49). The CW went with a showing of 2001 film The Wedding Planner (0.07) and a rerun of The Conners (0.04).
Finals Update: NFL Overrun on CBS (+2.0) and Fox (+2.7), The NFL Today (+0.3), The 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards (+0.4), Grimsburg (+0.2), The OT (+0.8), Bob's Burgers (+0.1), and NFL: Bills v. Dolphins (+1.0) adjusted up. Football Night in America (-0.6) adjusted down.
