It was a rough premiere Monday across the big four, as most new shows bombed and most returning veterans returned near or at new lows. Fox had a triumphant win for 9-1-1, which was down only a tenth from last year's timeslot premiere, leading into the start of Prodigal Son. Prodigal Son didn't have a strong start, but at a 1.0, it was a decent enough start to keep from being considered as much of a disappointment as the other series debuts. NBC had the nightly winner The Voice at a 1.7, one of the only strong starts on the night. Voice was followed by the series premiere of Bluff City Law with a 0.8, down well over 50% from the start of Manifest last year. CBS experienced multiple disappointments, with The Neighborhood dropping to a new fractional low for its second season premiere. Bob Hearts Abishola started below that with a 0.8, even lower than the average of the canceled Happy Together last year. All Rise was even lower with a 0.7, down five tenths from Magnum PI's start and taking last place in the timeslot among the big four. On the preempted ABC, Dancing With the Stars dropped two tenths from its premiere while The Good Doctor again returned by tying its series low and may even hit a new one after the finals. The CW aired its standard summer lineup at 0.2s as it continues to sit out premiere week.
