Friday TV Ratings 7/5/24: President Biden Interview Draws Strong Ratings, WWE SmackDown Takes Second, Lingo Rises [+ Analysis]

Ratings Analysis: George Stephanopoulos's interview with President Joe Biden was a roaring success for ABC. The interview garnered a 0.7 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic and passed the eight-million mark in total viewership, making it the top program of the night. Viewers quickly fled from there, as reruns of Jeopardy! Masters (0.26) and 20/20 (0.22) were nowhere near Biden. Fox's WWE Smackdown (0.66, 0.00) assumed second place in the key demo yet again, with this serving as its fourth week being blocked from the top spot. On CBS, Lingo (0.21, +0.02) increased in size. NBC went with repeats of Night Court (0.15) and Dateline (0.16). On the CW, The Big Bakeover (0.03, -0.01), Totally Funny Animals (0.02, -0.03), and Totally Funny Kids (0.02, -0.03) all declined.
