NBC has ordered both of their drama pilots to series, with Suits: LA and Grosse Pointe Garden Society scoring orders today.
Suits: LA, a loose spinoff of the long-running USA Network drama that grew popular on Netflix after being added last year, will star Stephen Amell, Bryan Greenberg, Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis and Troy Winbush as employees of a law firm in Los Angeles that is undergoing a crisis. At this time, no original cast members from Suits are expected to appear in the spinoff. It is the second attempt at a Suits spinoff, after the short-lived Pearson, which was a more direct spinoff, starring Gina Torres as her character from Suits.
Grosse Pointe Garden Society, from the creator of Good Girls, centers on members of a suburban garden club from different walks of life who are wrapped up in a murder mystery. Melissa Fumero, AnnaSophia Robb, Aja Naomi King, Ben Rappaport and Nancy Travis will star.
NBC has not yet announced whether these new pickups are for the 2024-25 season or the 2025-26 season, though they already have a new drama on the bench for midseason, which may suggest a 2025-26 debut for the newly-ordered projects.
