One of broadcast TV's longest-running series will extend its historic run, as ABC has renewed Grey's Anatomy for another season. The series is the longest-running primetime medical drama in history, and will ring in its milestone twentieth season next year. Though the series saw numerous new ratings lows this year, dropping 28% to a 0.46 average, it is still a strong linear and digital performer for ABC, ranking as their #4 series and #2 drama in there key 18-49 L+SD demographic. The series made headlines earlier this year when Ellen Pompeo, who portrayed the series' titular lead character Meredith Grey, exited the series after nineteen seasons as its leading lady. James Pickens Jr. and Chandra Wilson are the only original stars remaining on the series now, and appear alongside Kevin McKidd, Kim Raver, Camilla Luddington and Caterina Scorsone, among others. This is a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.
