Alert: Missing Persons Unit and Accused Renewed by Fox

Fox is handing second-season renewals to both of its midseason drama entries this season, as they have announced renewals for Alert: Missing Persons Unit and Accused. Both dramas had NFL-assisted premieres, an early sign of support from the network. Alert aired behind Fantasy Island on Mondays, and tried its best to hold its own in spite of a week lead-in. It ultimately averaging 0.25 for its Monday run, a few hundredths ahead of Fantasy Island. Accused enjoyed much more favorable circumstances, airing behind Fox's #2 drama, 9-1-1: Lone Star. Despite a solid start, it dropped quickly and averaged 0.29 behind Lone Star's 0.49. While neither show was a breakout for Fox, they both performed markedly better than fall bomb Monarch, and rate towards the middle of Fox's programming crop. Alert stars Scott Caan, Dania Ramirez and Ryan Broussard, while Accused is an anthology series with a rotating cast that featured names such as Margo Martindale, Michael Chiklis and Whitney Cummings in its inaugural season. Both shows are correct predictions for The TV Ratings Guide.
