Saturday TV Ratings 8/5/23: Ms. Marvel Weak in Broadcast Debut, Great Chocolate Showdown Hits New Low in Premiere, Women’s World Cup Coverage Leads (UPDATED)

Ratings Analysis: The broadcast debut of Disney+ series 'Ms. Marvel' (0.11/0.11/0.10) did not reel in many eyeballs on ABC, but that comes as no surprise since the program has been available to stream for well over a year. NBC's own streaming transplant 'Baking It' (0.11, -0.01) slipped by a hundredth and was yet again put to shame by the 9 p.m. rerun of 'America's Got Talent' (0.16). CBS had reruns of 'Fire Country' (0.12) and '48 Hours' (0.12/0.16). Fox's broadcast of the 'FIFA Women's World Cup' (0.35) easily topped the night in the Adults 18-49 demographic. The game built significantly on the rerun of 'MasterChef' (0.09) that aired in the 8 p.m. hour. 'Great Chocolate Showdown' (0.03) and 'Recipe For Disaster' (0.02) had abysmal starts on the CW.

Finals Update: The 10 PM repeat of '48 Hours' (+0.1) adjusted up. 'FIFA Women’s World Cup Live' (-0.1) and the repeat of 'MasterChef' (-0.1) adjusted down.
