Last night was Premiere Tuesday, and it was another good night for NBC. With the return of This Is Us, they notched what may end up being a weekly high of 3.0, the show's highest number since October 2017. This was well below last year's huge 3.9, but still ahead of the 2.8 for the finale. Behind it was new drama New Amsterdam, which had decent retention an a very strong 1.8, with relative steadiness in the half-hours. Before This Is Us was The Voice, which grew from its Monday premiere. Elsewhere, things weren't so rosy. CBS has the second-best night, with a solid 1.4 for NCIS and a nice 1.0 for NCIS: New Orleans at 10. In between the NCIS twins was new Dick wolf drama FBI, which retained NCIS well with a 1.3 debut. It's not huge, but it seems to be a decent addition to the night at this point. It was a tenth ahead of Monday's Magnum PI, despite a three-tenths lower lead-in. Fox also rolled out premieres of veterans, with The Gifted having a non-completely-awful debut for season two at 0.9. This is below the first season finale, but it's been off for awhile and it's on a new night, so a one-tenth drop isn't too awful. Behind it was Lethal Weapon, which replaced one of its stars and dropped four of its tenths from the 2017 premiere. ABC also aired last night, and it's best to avoid talking about their night altogether.
Finals Update: The Voice (+0.1) and This Is Us (+0.1) adjusted up. New Amsterdam (-0.1) adjusted down.
