NBC’s Chairman Robert Greenblatt Negotiating Leave After Nearly 8 Years

Per Variety, NBC Entertainment’s Head, Robert “Bob” Greenblatt, is in negotiations to step down from his position. He is said to be stepping down for “personal reasons”. It is thought that the decision will be finalized over the weekend.

Greenblatt has been leading NBC for nearly 8 years and led the network to a complete turnaround. He inherited a network that was averaging less than 80% of the Big 4 non-sports league average, and turned it into a powerhouse through hits like The Voice, as well as the reliable Chicago dramas. The network under his tenure has also successfully launched international hits such as The Blacklist, and the comedy division is gradually being rebuilt in the post-The Office era.
