Mixtape Ordered to Series by Netflix

Nearly two months after its rejection by Fox, Netflix has ordered musical drama Mixtape to series. Hailing from Quantico creator Joshua Safran, Mixtape is described as "a romantic musical drama that looks at the love stories connecting a diverse, disparate group of people in contemporary Los Angeles through the music that lives inside their hearts and minds." Jenna Dewan, Madeleine Stowe, and Callie Hernandez will star in the drama, which has received a ten-episode pickup. This isn't the first time that Netflix has rescued a network pilot, as they have one-tim CW series Insatiable on the docket for this Summer.
