1x18 - “Dream a Little Dream”
By: Jessica Boggs
T. APARTMENT COMPLEX HALLWAY - NIGHT
Last week on Network, Leah accepts a marriage proposal, Kasey and Jesse did something we cannot
show you on television, and Holly is drinking at the bar while talking to Matt. This is what you missed
on Network, but we start off this episode with Matt walking Holly home to her apartment.

on Network, but we start off this episode with Matt walking Holly home to her apartment.
Holly: Thanks for walking me home, Matt.
Matt: It’s my pleasure. If you need anything, just call me, okay?
Holly: I will!
The two embrace. Then Matt leaves. Holly then turns to open the door.
CUT TO:
INT. LIVING ROOM - CONTINUOUS
When Holly enters her apartment, she breathes out a big sigh, then heads to the couch to lay down. She
contemplates everything that happened.
contemplates everything that happened.
Holly: All these months that we have shared traded in for passion and lust. This is not the first time my
ex did it to someone. He did it to Leah, and now he did it to me. But what did I care? I lost our perfect
little one, the only thing I had hope for the sake of humanity. The little peanut in the sky. All gone. Now
where do I go from here?

She gets up, sighs, and heads to her room.
INT. HOLLY’S ROOM - CONTINUOUS
Holly: So what should I wear? Sweats, a T-shirt and shorts, or those girly pajamas? Hmmm…I guess a
T-shirt and shorts it is.
T-shirt and shorts it is.
Holly then changes into her T-shirt and shorts combo, grabs her computer, and writes.
Holly (narrating): Monday, October 16. I guess it is unusually warm at this point. It’s been a couple of
months since Jesse broke up with me, but it is getting somewhat easier to manage. I met this awesome
guy at the bar tonight. His name is Matt, but I don’t know if I should get to know him further. Don’t get
me wrong, he seems like a really nice guy. But I have been duped by one, and it hurts. I’m guessing a
new perspective is freshly needed.

All of a sudden, Holly’s cell phone rings. It is Leah.
Holly: Hello?
CUT TO:
INT. LEAH’S APARTMENT - CONTINUOUS
Leah: Hey Holly, how are you holding up?
INTERCUT - PHONE CONVERSATION
Holly: Not too bad. Just hanging in there.
Leah: That’s a good sign.
Holly: Got back from the bar earlier, and a guy named Matt took me home.
Leah: Hmmm...sounds like the network’s Matt.
Holly: Something like that.
Leah: Girl, that may just be an upgrade for you.
Holly: Well, what do you mean?
Leah: He is super cute, if you know what I mean. And he stood up for you when Jesse was literally
degrading you in front of everybody while he was arguing with Charlie. It’s like he was downplaying
how important your relationship was. Jesse the dog, that is.

Holly: That, Jesse is.
Leah: You don’t sound too good, Holly.
Holly: I know. A couple of months has been rough.
Leah: I bet. It took me six months, but I am now engaged to the love of my life.
Holly is genuinely in shock after Leah tells her of the news.
Holly: Are you serious? Since when?
Leah: Since this evening. Ash brought me to his office, got down on one knee and proposed!
Holly: Congratulations! I am so happy for you.
Leah: I know, right?
The girls laughed endlessly.
Leah: Well now, I will catch you later. Take care of yourself. I hope you can come to the wedding.
Holly: Is that an invite?
Leah: Yeah.
Holly: Well, see you later.
END PHONE CONVERSATION
The phone conversation ends. Holly then returns to writing.
Holly (narrating): Sometimes when life gives you curveballs, that’s when you experience strength like
never before. I’m glad Leah called me. I’m happy that she has find someone to spend a lifetime with.
Maybe this will give me hope. Should I start a friendship with Matt and see how this ends up? Maybe.
But the possibilities are endless.

Holly: All better now.
