Trial & Error: The sophomore comedy returned last week with 0.6/0.5 half-hours for its double-episode premiere. Both episodes were a tenth below where Marlon was for its premiere, and the second episode was lower than anything Marlon did all season long. This isn't surprising, since the show was a flop to begin with and it barely even got a second season. It was always going to be an underdog for renewal, especially being a Warner Bros. production, unlike Marlon, an NBCU production. While there wasn't much incentive to renew it last season, there seems to be even less this season, so it starts out as a LIKELY CANCELLATION.
Burden of Truth: One of two CW scripted series this Summer, Burden of Truth started its season last night with a just-fine 0.2. A 0.2 for a premiere doesn't usually indicate long-term success, but for Summer on the CW, it isn't too bad. It's higher than The Outpost started, and it's on par with Friday reality series Masters of Illusion. It's also probably dirt-cheap, given that it's a Canadian import. Its Canadian home, CBC, has already renewed the show, so it needed to bomb HARD for the CW to cancel it. It didn't, so it's a LIKELY RENEWAL, the first show this season to be placed in the renewal column.
Reverie: Seriously, how has this show not been pulled yet?
