INT. APARTMENT BUILDING HALLWAY - DAY

SUPER: PREVIOUSLY ON WRITER’S BLOCK…

Jack gasps.

JACK
Wait a second. Why do you have a problem with us writing a pilot script?

MIKE
I have my reasons. One is that I have connections in this town, more than you will ever have. Two is that you don’t have writing ability and three, you’re dimwitted.

NOAH
The lies you tell. If you really knew, Jack and I are writers. We’ve been writers for years. Unlike you, we have day jobs because we’re realistic.

JACK
And furthermore, it takes time and effort to be an overnight success story, even with the connections you have.

MIKE
Keep telling yourself that.

Noah throws the first punch at Mike.

BACK TO PRESENT EPISODE.

We last left last week’s episode at a huge fight between our duo and Mike. Jill tries to intervene and Mike leaves the scene plotting his next move.

On this week’s episode (the season one finale), we have the aftermath.

INT. APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - DAY

We see Jack pacing back and forth. Noah is on the sofa typing away.

The phone rings. Noah answers.

Jack pauses his pacing around.

After a few minutes, Noah then hangs up and looks at Jack.

NOAH
I got bad news. We may be getting evicted soon.

JACK
Are you serious? What for?

NOAH
That fight with Mike, plus we are late on rent, as usual.

JACK
That piece of s***!

Jack puts his hands on his head.

Noah then gets up to comfort Jack.

NOAH
All the more reason why we need to pitch this script to the network tomorrow morning. The folks over there are interested in ordering a pilot.

Jack then paces back and forth.

JACK
Come on, let’s do this.

Jack and Noah then head out of the apartment with their stuff in tow.

INT. APARTMENT BUILDING HALLWAY - DAY

All of a sudden, Noah and Jack pick up a packet that appears to be a script.

Noah then reads it carefully.

EXT. PARKING LOT - DAY

They then get in the car and drive off.

INT. JACK’S CAR - DAY

Jack focuses in on the road while Noah is puzzled.

NOAH
You know, that script about us, that is terrible.

JACK
You got that right.

They drive off.

INT. APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

Hours later, Jack and Noah are grasping at straws.

NOAH
I don’t believe this.

JACK
What do you mean?

NOAH
Have you ever considered the possibility of getting passed over?

Jack then pauses.

And that sets up to season 2 of Writer's Block, coming this fall on the TV Ratings Guide.
