EXT. SKYLINE - DAY
A plane is in the air. On this episode of Network, we are on our way to Los Angeles, California.
INT. BUSINESS CLASS - DAY
Jesse and Kasey sit next to each other. Kasey on the window seat and Jesse away.
KASEY
This is a change of pace. I’ve never been to LA.
JESSE
It’s the exciting part of working in the business. You get to travel and see all sorts of interesting things.
On the left side of business class, Ash is drinking coffee while sitting next to Leah.
Leah looks at Ash.
LEAH
I bet you need that getaway.
ASH
(with relief)
Of course.
LEAH
That way, we won’t be bothered by that psycho.
At the back of the business class, Matt sits with Holly unbothered.
Charlie sits in front of them. Mike (a character from Writer’s Block) sits next to her.
He turns to look at Charlie with a curious look.
Charlie then turns to look at him.
CHARLIE
So, what brings you here?
Mike shrugs.
MIKE
On my way home to Beverly Hills after a television writer’s conference.
CHARLIE
Interesting. I guess. Always on the hunt for the next cash grab.
Confused, Mike raises his eyebrows. His eyes widen.
MIKE
I beg your pardon?
We pan back to Leah and Ash. Sitting behind them are Jack and Noah. We introduced you to both of them during season one in the present time, went a few years backward for Writer’s Block, and continue in present time.
Jack looks at Noah.
JACK
What a long trip this has been.
NOAH
You said it. I learned a lot in this conference.
Ash, overhearing the conversation, turns towards them.
ASH
I never thought I would be seeing you on board this plane.
JACK
Hello, Mr. Chambers! Pleasant seeing you here.
Noah gives Ash a confused look.
NOAH
So what’s bringing you to Cali?
ASH
It’s a long story.
Ash then turns back to face the front.
Leah sighs.
Jack and Noah resume their conversation.
EXT. LAX - DAY
SUPER: HOURS LATER
The plane lands.
Minutes later, the gang boards out of the plane.
INT. LAX TERMINAL - DAY
Charlie crosses her arms.
CHARLIE
Where the f*** is my luggage?
Leah looks at her disapprovingly.
LEAH
The bags are there somewhere. You have to wait.
CHARLIE
You think I don’t know that, genius?
Holly motions Charlie over to the luggage area.
HOLLY
Your Birkins, Charlie?
CHARLIE
Coming up, ready and loaded.
Charlie then grabs her expensive luggage, one suitcase bag on each hand.
Jack and Noah then stare blankly at Charlie.
JACK
Who can afford $60,000 luggage bags in this economy?
NOAH
Beats me.
Kasey, clenching her almost nine month pregnant belly, turns towards Noah and Jack.
KASEY
It’s okay. She’s got the money. I couldn’t afford the stuff she has anyway.
