INT. APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

SUPER: 8:00 PM

On this episode of Writer’s Block, Noah and Jack find out the date of their pitching session to the networks.

Jack motions Noah to an email.

Noah gasps. In a calm manner, he sits on the sofa.

NOAH
Wow. January is so far away. What month are we in?

JACK
We are in November.

Noah turns to look at Jack in a disapproving manner.

Jack sits on a recliner across from the sofa.

NOAH
We were in a hurry to get our pilots in only to find out this? We could have just gotten day jobs.

Jack shrugs.

Fury rises from Noah’s face.

NOAH (CONT'D)
Don’t you shrug at me! We are almost broke and I’m sick and tired of getting on survey sites. I’m sick of PayPal already.

JACK
You and me both.

Time passes. Noah and Jack get day jobs in the time being.

Jack works at a cafe while Noah works as a creative director’s assistant at a broadcast network.

INT. CAFE TABLE - DAY

Jack takes the order of a customer.

He writes it down on the notepad.

JACK
Coming up, sir!

Jack then walks away to the counter, tears the order, and places it on the window.

INT. OFFICE - DAY

Noah types away furiously on the computer.

NOAH
F***!

The computer crashes.

Noah gets up from his desk and paces back and forth.

He then dials the number to an IT service.

Trying to stay calm, he sighs.

Time moves slowly.

Okay folks, this is getting ridiculous.

The computer restores back to normal.

NOAH
Great! Now I can work in peace!

Noah resumes typing.

INT. APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - DAY

SUPER: THE DAY AFTER NEW YEAR’S.

Jack brings home the bacon from the cafe.

Noah is on his laptop, paying for last month’s rent.

NOAH
Close but no cigar.

JACK
But we are closer to that pitch!

Jack then brings out his laptop.

Noah then reviews what is on the screen.

Noah then gets up from the sofa and grabs a notepad from behind.

He takes notes.

Jack, in the meantime, taps his foot lightly on the floor.

He then quietly motions back to the recliner.

Noah then looks up at Jack.

NOAH
Hey, I have an idea!

Jack’s eyes widen.

JACK
Seriously?

The two exchange awkward silences.
